Prior to 2005, no one had ever used this land for a home. I moved a house that was the general store in Coupland in the 1920s and remodeled it, then added a barn, also repurposed from a barn I took down for a neighbor. A few years ago I added a third structure, using materials from the Kimbro general store, built in 1920, from half mile away. I installed a rainwater system and composting septic in 2005 which is working great. Everything here I built myself, so if something goes wrong I can fix it quick. Often people say it looks like this place has been here forever!
