The Tin Barn Lodge is a newly renovated pole barn which was originally constructed in 1951 to serve the needs of the Meyer family, original owners of the property. Their original house, which is now Comfort Cottage, is one of 3 houses on the property. It is rumored among Meyer descendants that there was a moonshine still on the property during prohibition, and the "bottle graveyard" in the middle creek area would tend to corroborate this rumor. In addition to the Meyer cottage, a second, smaller cottage formerly owned by the Mayer Family was moved onto the property in 2002, the same year in which the main house was built by yet another, different, Meyer family. The Tin Barn area, though in close physical proximity to the cottages, is separated by a cattle guard, and the back area is quite private, though cottage guests do also have access to the fishing pond.
The property is only 6 miles from Round Top Square. The town boasts world class classical music facilities (Festival Hill), art venues and galleries, and historical points of interest. Round Top is also home to an internationally-known antique show from mid-March to the beginning of April and mid-September to the beginning of October.
