Tyler County Texas is part of the Big Thicket National Preserve. Here you can find a variety of wildlife such as deer, wild hogs, bobcats, bald eagles, armadillos, raccoons, opossums, rabbits and snakes. There are even a pair of red tail hawks that like to hunt on the property. There are wild blackberries and muscadine grapes that grow around the perimeter of the property as well as up and down the road. Tyler County started as a lumber area and still continues the tradition today with approximately 1,500 acres of timber to the east all the way to the Neches River. There are several trail rides in the area throughout the year as well as the Dogwood Festival in Woodville. If you are looking for some a place to walk in the woods and do some tremendous star gazing this is the place for you.
