Once upon a time, in 1932, the south fork of Wolf Creek was dammed, and Lake Louise was born. Okay, so it’s not exactly the most exciting bedtime story, but we promise you that visiting is way more fun than reading a quick blurb about this awesome place’s history. Pheasant and duck hunters in particular will totally want to come check this recreation area out—it’s well-known for its plentiful game. Anglers can get in on the action, too. Naturally, swimming is another big draw out here. If you’d rather spend some time on solid ground, then you might be interested in the Pheasant Run Trail. It’s a super easy hike that will get you up close and personal with wildlife, and even Indian burial grounds. And, lest we forget, there’s tons of camping options, including rental cabins for all of our fabulous glampers.
