South Carolina’s mild winters mean you can enjoy all that Sumter National Forest has to offer, no matter the season. Divided between three districts, this forest is bound to become a favorite. In the Enoree Ranger District, there are 170,000 acres just waiting to be canoed through and camped on. Rev up for your trip to the Long Cane Ranger District, because some of these trails are motorcycle friendly! Of course, if you’re more comfortable on your own two feet or your horse’s four hooves, there’s plenty of trail for you, too. And in the Andrew Pickens Ranger District, you can get a whitewater rush on the Upper Chattooga and lose yourself in the sweeping views from the Oscar Wigginton Overlook.
