Do you like flowers and running? Better yet, do you love running through flowers? Well, welcome to heaven. Host of the annual South Carolina Festival of Flowers Triathlon held each June, Lake Greenwood provides ample flower-frolicking opportunities. Come for spring training in March to early April to see (and smell) the blooming wisteria. And what better a backdrop for a wedding! The Drummond Center that sits beside the shores of Lake Greenwood is the sweetest spot for your next event, matrimonial or otherwise.

The 11,400-acre reservoir lake that gives the park its name offers year-round boating and fishing opportunities. Swimming is also permitted, though you may want to wait ‘til it’s a little less nippy. If you’re looking to seriously simmer down, mosey along the nature trail, keeping your eyes peeled for feathered friends!

Lake Greenwood Campground
Patricia: Huge campgrounds but they pack you in like sardines. Great boating and fishing lake.
