Barnwell’s three small lakes are teeming with bream, bass, catfish and, of course, crappie. For the budding botanist, take a walk down the Dogwood Interpretive Trail and watch the woods become your classroom, full of helpful signs pointing out the dainty, white hollies, looming poplars, and striking wild orchids. The only crowds you’ll find at Barnwell are the enormous families of fish that populate the ponds, making it the perfect locale to stop and smell the...orchids?
