Camp close to Adelaide’s city centre and within walking distance of green urban spaces.
The northern Adelaide neighbourhood of Prospect is very close to the central city and a convenient place to set up camp to be close to the action while having access to beautiful natural spots. The main thoroughfare, Prospect Road, leads directly to Reservoir Park, Bragg Park, and other central-city green areas encircling the River Torrens, which are great picnic spots. Campers wanting to get out of the city from their base in Prospect can head west to coastal suburbs such as Glenelg or Seacliff, or east to the Adelaide Hills, both a short drive or train or bus ride away. Whether you’re at the start or end of your Australia camping adventure, Prospect is a handy place to prepare for or decompress from a cross-country road trip, with the wilds of Western Australia in one direction, the Limestone Coast in another, and the Red Centre to the north.
