Camp Creek Retreat, Queensland
The property in Camp Creek was first "selected" by William Dimmock in 1895. It was a dairy farm and at one stage the family grew market garden crops on a pleatu high up the mountain, possibly using a flyingfox to bring the crops down. Originally the property took in "Screw Gully", from Glenapp up to Tartar Creek Rd. In the 60's Jim Dimmick (grandson to William) sold out and the land was sub-divided. However the original homestead still stands, albeit showing serious wear and tear. The property supports up to 40 head of breeding cattle and 4 retired horses.
