Pennsylvania knows how to attract vacationing families, and Nockamixon State Park is no exception. This huge wilderness area boasts a 1,450-acre lake and a huge swimming pool complex with two slides. It’s close enough to Philly to make a day of it and far enough away to be an awesome extended vacation. Rent one of the cabins perched on the lake shore and get right to it. Cabin fever at Nockamixon State Park is an easy fix—for a change of scenery, just walk out of your cabin and straight to the banks of Lake Nockamixon! Not only are the ten cabins here super close to the water, they also provide easy access to the Horse Trail, Church Trail, and boat launch area. So really, there’s no excuse for cabin fever here!
