It was always my dream to create a healing retreat center. A place that grows food and medicine and connection and community. 8 years ago in the early summer of 2015 that vision started to become a tangible reality when I bought this beautiful lil chunk of earth. It's been a gorgeously wild, (and sweat, blood and tear) filled journey to be in a place where I can finally start to share this with the world in my own little way through opening up places for people to come. It's so wonderful to be welcoming in travelers for rest, reprieve and connection to the land. I am forever grateful to be here and witness all the magical souls that this space brings into my life! The cabin at Sweetgrass Homestead is beautiful, eco friendly and artistically designed space perfect for a romantic getaway or healing retreat.  We use only non-toxic and organic cleaning materials and natural fibers. Cotton, linen, flax etc for bedding and blankets. *NO PETS INSIDE CABIN. Your dog is welcome to join you on the land but please keep them outside the cabin. So sorry but no exceptions on this one.  The land is a beautiful mix of old growth Oak, Madrone and Pine, with open meadows, fruit trees and an abundant and lush vegetable and medicinal herb garden.   The cabin is a stand alone structure with a separate parking and pathway entrance. Its relatively close to the main house but private feeling with fruit trees and rose & lilac bushes as space holder for its own lil yard- we are visioning adding more privacy and living fence coming soon. The outdoor shower and soaking tub is designed with a fusion of PNW & Japanese simplicity in mind. Its divine to take a soak when its raining and listen to the drops fall on the roof over head. The wrap around deck and front porch are supported with trees harvested and peeled on the property. There is a shared beautiful composting toilet near the temple, just a 10 sec walk away. This system used here breaks down waste that turns into fertile and rich compost in a couple years that is used for tree planting and other projects on the farm. This is a dry waste system, meaning we encourage minimal liquid in put, there are many private places in the forest and around the cabin to pee on the earth.  The land is home to me (Stella), Yara the wolfpup, Kava the maine coon cat, a gaggle of chickens, and most likely a work trader or two living here and learning about farming/homesteading. Sometimes its really quiet and you may not see any of us and sometimes we are bustling around working on projects or enjoying meals together in the backyard.  This is a healthy, holistic and very kid friendly environment.  There is a yurt temple space dedicated to meditation, healing arts and yoga. You are welcome to use the space during your stay. More details on the space will be provided with an info booklet upon check in. Please read thoroughly. If you would like to book a session with one of the many healing arts practitioners during your stay just let me know. There are an abundance of massage therapists, reiki, craniosacral, herbalist, and yoga/meditation instructors in the valley.   Dogs are welcome to join you on your stay, but I ask that your pup stay outside the cabin, they are welcome to sleep on the porch or in the yard. Please also keep your pup leashed at all times, as there are chickens that sometimes free range the property.  Please also pick up any waste you canine friend may leave behind :). I have a pup here on the property also, and if we are around she loves other dogs and would be happy to have some playdates :).  *About Stella- Apart from being passionate about homesteading and growing as much of my own food and medicine as possible I am an herbalist and photographer. I have a lust for adventure and have travelled all over the world. Im super excited to open my door to likeminded travelers and adventurers and love swapping stories.

A space to heal
I came out to this space for healing, grieving, and rejuvenating and that’s exactly what the space allowed me to do. The cabin was rustic, charming, safe, and magical. Stella was an attentive host and the frog song at the pond was soothing and enchanting. I hope to make it back someday, but I’m so grateful for the time that I did have and the adventures I had while there. Thank you, Stella!

Sweet Stay
My favorite hipcamp stay so far! I had such a great time I extended my stay, even despite some smoke from nearby fires! The space was beautiful and Stella was an amazing host. It’s equipped with all the essentials and the sweetest pup to greet you upon your arrival. Close to some great swimming spots and adventures but also great for winding down & finding grounding. Can’t wait to visit again!

This cabin was wonderful. Set amid the lush greens and golds of the Oregon hills, we enjoyed a peaceful, comfortable stay as the penultimate stop on our cross-US road trip. We loved the outdoor bath/shower and the chance to drift off to sleep listening to the crickets and (abundant, vociferous) bullfrogs on the outdoor patio. Stella was a great host and provided us with some home-grown produce for our dinner! Yara (dog) was also a great host and incredibly welcoming to our dog Murphy.

This place was a great place to stay! We only stayed for one night but wish we were there for longer! Everything was cozy and clean as well! The outdoor shower was very enjoyable with plenty of privacy and a great view of the scenery. Stella was super friendly and accommodating, we definitely recommend this cute spot!
