2024 total eclipse
In the path of the April 8, 2024 total solar eclipse.
Located less than a mile from Lake Erie, our 1860's brick farmhouse is an area icon. This seven acre homestead is where we grow our own food, raise sheep, chickens and bees, bake sourdough bread, brew beer and wine, and create art in Copper Leaf Studios. We are a monarch waystation and have several acres dedicated to native pollinators, plants, and trees. Much like our farm's name, our place is warm, welcoming, rustic, and a bit gritty. We are advocates of inclusion, local community, and sustainable living. We love telling and hearing good stories. We believe in the powers of kindness and peace. We hope to share our part of the world with others. We have firewood onsite for HipCamper use. Our breakfast is not to be missed (included for Peace Portal & Covered Wagon sites; optional for tent campers) and features farm fresh & local ingredients. We offer an outhouse with a composting toilet as well as a traditional flushable half bath with running water and power. Pets are welcome. Message us if you have any questions!

Farm Stay Tent Camping
Great camping!
100% recommend staying at Flannel Dog Farm. Alan is an amazing host. He answers questions quickly and gave easy to follow directions to the farm. He met us at the gate and gave us a tour of the camp area and offered us multiple areas to park our van. We came during a very rainy week and they had a level graveled area for us to park. They have lots of options for areas to set up camp, including a raised platform for tents. The bathroom facilities are clean and well lit for easy finding in the dark. They also have multiple places for campfires with chairs or benches set up at each area. We found the farm and surrounding area very quiet at night. Seeing all the chickens and sheep was fun as well.

Peaceful Respite
Alan and Chris are exceptional hosts. The Peace Portal is a gem on the farm. It was so fun to meet the sheep, ducks and goats and the breakfast + coffee was a gift.

Farm Stay Tent Camping
The tent camping was great other than the weather but there’s nothing better then some nice hot fresh made sourdough bread and bagels after a cold night. My only neighbors was a family of goats and some chickens. What a great stay.

Covered Wagon
Amazing stay! Alan made us feel very welcomed, gave us a tour of his property, answered questions about the farm/animals, made us a delicious breakfast (definitely buy his homemade bagels), and made sure we had everything we needed. The wagon was comfy and perfect for two people and a pup. Would definitely stay again.

Magical
Alan and his wife, Chris, are the perfect hosts. The land is absolutely magically peaceful and serene. We cannot recommend this place enough and hope to return in the future.

Farm Stay Tent Camping
Alan was a fantastic host. Made sure we had plenty of fire wood and water. My 2 year old loved all the animals and exploring. We loved having the farm breakfast. It was so nice to camp and have breakfast delivered. 10 out of 10 would stay here again. The only thing I would do differently would be to bring a canopy for shade. It was a hot weekend and there’s not much for shade in the camping area. We certainly hope to be back!
