My grandpa and grandma moved here in 1943 so that would make me a 3rd generation farmer on this land and a fourth generation farmer since my great grandfather was also a farmer. Originally, they paid 10,500 for this land back then and at the time all that existed was a few little outbuildings and a log cabin that needed a lot of work. There was no electricity here till after World War 2.
My grandpa built a barn and farmed this land till 1955 when he had an opportunity to buy another farm and then he moved to that place. I grew up on this farm, having moved here when I was in second grade and have been on and off, but mostly here now for the rest of my life. I am mostly retired but do have chickens, ducks and one wild goose. I make hay in the summertime and try and keep bees also.

I am in the process of planting trees on the open fields to find good purpose in life and make up for some of the destruction of habitat I may have been responsible for over the years. I also carve with a chainsaw in already dead trees or cull trees from others. I enjoy the solitude and peacefulness of our farm and I am not a hunter so wildlife abounds. Please respect the natural order of things.
