Blair has created a beautiful, private camping spot. It is tucked into a lovely vegetated area surrounded by conifer trees, Aspens (or maybe Birch?) & other various plantings that offered protection from the wind we had the evening we were there. It is directly on the rivers edge, has a grassy area for sitting or playing with your dog, a picnic table out of the sun and a fire pit. Blair is very friendly and offered us all kinds of tips and ideas for not only our stay, but as we travelled about Cape Breton, truly a very special place. We hope to be back!

Ingonish Oasis!

We had the best three days staying at Blair’s place! Private beach, grassy area, breakfast nook and a fire pit nestled away from the wind. Everything was perfectly thought out, well maintained and the most idyllic getaway. The views were breathtaking, with just a short walk to catch the sunrise in the morning. Blair gave great recommendations for exploring the area, and even spoiled us with local mussels! I couldn’t recommend this campsite more!

Private Beach and Bald Eagles!

What a stunning property! The private beach is UNREAL! We saw a bald eagle fly 10 meters in front of us!
We camped here - hiked Middle Land at Ingonish one day, drove the entire Cabbot Trail another day… and came back to enjoy the peace this property offers. We used the “back entrance” to the National Park using the trail at the end of the block. The site has no bathroom facilities - but we were fine driving the 3 minutes to the visitor center to use the washrooms there.

An incredible location, semi-private and tucked away with a gorgeous view overlooking Ingonish Harbour and access to the water. Perfect for a small RV/van. The site was impeccably maintained, with a picnic table, fire pit and supply of wood. Off grid, but not off the map, just a quick drive from many beautiful beaches and hikes in Cape Breton Highlands National Park.

Beautiful & Right on the Water

Blair was an excellent host and her property is beautiful. It's extremely well maintained and you can tell that a lot of care has gone into setting it up as a special spot for campers. There is a boat launch nearby, so if you're a light sleeper, be aware of that, but I wouldn't let it stop me from staying at this property, as it was still a great night's sleep. It was great having a gravel area to park the truck and set up our privacy tent. Overall, a great experience!

We loved our stay here, the views are amazing!! Well thought out space, the gravel camp pad is very easy to level the camper on, also has a grass area for our dog to play - with access down to the water. Blair was very helpful with anything that we needed and had lots of suggestions on things to do and see in the area. We would definitely stay here again.

A treasure of a site!

What a treasure of a site! A beautifully kept and stunning location to park up for a couple of days and just enjoy the scenery, wildlife and local area. The weather wasn’t great but it didn’t matter, as we could simply relax and unwind - we didn’t move the RV from the moment we arrived until we left - just exploring the shoreline and local walks. Blair was really helpful before we arrived in terms of directions and things to do in the area, where to eat etc. we really appreciated the firewood and lighters so we could get enjoy a cosy campfire.

The site was as beautiful if not more beautiful than the pictures I saw. The beach access, and the views were two of my favorite features. Blair also built a nice fire pit and there was wood on site available that was a great touch! Over all an amazing experience, and even better views.

This site is truly fabulous for an ocean lover! I felt like I had a piece of prime real estate on a very private little lot that was directly on the water - I could hear the calming waves all night! I stayed here in my 20 foot camper van, which, I would say, is the absolute maximum length to fit on the flat part of the lot. I found that slowly backing down the drive and then cutting back and forth a few times enabled me to have my van nicely settled on the pad with my slider door facing the ocean. The site was very well maintained with a great picnic table nestled in some trees and a fire pit area.

Quiet and intimate with access to a beach. 30 min. Bike ride to Franey trailhead and less than 10 from ice cream.

This location was absolutely epic! Blair was an awesome host and filled us on in on a number of local hikes and private spots - it was absolutely perfect - the site is so clean and with the gravel is absolutely perfect even with any rain - we will DEFINITELY be back! Thanks Blair!

Magnifique vue sur la mer!

Magnifique séjour de camping, emplacement de choix; splendide vue sur la mer, accès à une petite plage intime à même le terrain, aménagement pour feu de camp, espace gazonné avec chaises pour admirer la vue et parfait pour que les enfants y jouent.
L’emplacement est proche des commodités; épicerie, NSLC, station de vidange, sentiers, plages.
D’ailleurs Blair a été très aidant et accueillant en nous donnant de très bons conseils autant sur les sentiers, les restaurants, les plages, ce qui a été grandement apprécié autant du côté d’Ingonish que de Cheticamp. Nous avons d’ailleurs beaucoup aimé la recommandation de Blair pour le restaurant l’Abri Café; vue sur la mer, très bon fish and chip et guédille aux homards et en prime: un coucher de soleil incroyable.
Merci encore Blair pour le superbe séjour. Ce fût un de nos arrêts préférés à travers les parcs nationaux et provinciaux de par l’intimité et la vue :).

Awesome spot right off the water. We did Cabot trail and this was our first stop. It is a relatively small parking area but more than enough. Being able to have breakfast overlooking the Smokey View was unreal. We also walked down the rocky stairs right to the cobblestone beach to enjoy the view even more.

Wonderful location, wonderful host

This was our first time in Cape Breton, and our host Blair's friendliness and camping location made it even more special. The site is absolutely incredible! Blair has created a nice level site for your camper and a grass area to sit and observe the water just in front of the site and cliffs in the distance. We ended up staying here a couple extra days as we could not bear to move on to our next scheduled site. We were able to spend evenings around the campfire with Blair, his daughter, and her family. He was immensely helpful guiding our visit to match our interests. He recommended the Franey hike which was a highlight of our trip. It really couldn't be more perfect.

WOW! What a fantastic campsite right on the water. There is even a small, private beach to take a dip. Blair was extremely friendly and had tons of great stories about the area including its history. We wish we could've stayed longer but alas...

.lClean and comfortable with private green and dock spaces to enjoy the bay and Cape Smokey, the site perfectly situated for exploring Cape Breton and the national park. To top it off, Blair knows pretty much everything about the areas trails, restaurants (do not miss the lobster club at the Seagull!) etc.
PS While the site is longer than it is wide, we had more than enough room to open the tent canopy that more than doubles the width of our trailer.

Blair has made an oasis for you! Level site right over the water - we followed his many local tips and really enjoyed our time here.
Fire pit, dock access and other thoughtful touches make this spot sing.
You are tucked next to a neighbors home but still have complete privacy - our 22’ airstream just fit with a confident driver backing it down to the site.

Absolutely gorgeous views! Very well-kept site. The grass section and dock access were very nice additions. The host was very friendly and gave us several recommendations for local things to do. Would definitely stay here again.
