Have you ever wanted to camp out in the middle of a working farm? This is your chance. At night you have the farm to yourself. During the day you can see a functioning community garden. We are about 26 minutes from the NC Zoo. This is a great way to spend the weekend camping and get in a trip to the zoo! If you are a ghost story fan, the Devil's Tramping Ground is not too far away. You may see us on the property on Friday and Saturdays. After we finish our work, the farm is all yours for some serious peace and quiet. Rest assured you evenings will be very quiet and peaceful. Thanks for taking a look. The inclusion policy below is from HipCamp corporate. Our policy is much simpler. Be respectful to others and the property and have a good time. This is a campsite where have the most of the 10 acre property to yourself. You are surrounded by farms and rural properties. You are with the people in your campsite and pretty much no one else, except maybe us if we are on the farm during the day. This is a private campsite where you are the only people on the property. We just want you to have a great time and bring home great stories. Come camp with us and build your own story. We are Dirt Farmers and Pesticide / Insecticide Free If we grow good dirt, then plants will grow and produce abundantly. We use a minimum of organic fertlizers. We avoid the use of synthetic fertilizers. We also don't use any pesticides or insecticides. We do use natural amendments like woodchips, hay (pesticide / herbicide free) and feather meal. Diversity of Plants and Trees on the Farm Let us introduce you to some of the variety of plants, bushes and trees on the farm including Row Crops - garlic and onions - potatoes Fruit and Bearing Trees - mulberry - hazel - black walnut - figs - olive - persimmon - paw paw Fruit Bearing Bushes - blueberry - goji berry - elderberry - blackberry Specialty - yaupon holley - witch hazel - native cactus (edible / nopales) - comfrey - honey bees

      Water was easily accessible, porta potty was clean and stocked, plenty of spots to choose from to set camp. If traveling through the area again on an adventurous trip, would consider staying again.

      Private and peaceful! Wonderful bird songs in the morning. Montie was very responsive and helpful. Water, electric and the porta potty were very accessible.

      Staying here was great for us. The site was close to power and water and very remote. It was sweet being positioned among the gardens.

      Excellent place to camp! Montie was a great host, gave us perfect directions to the farm, and made sure we had everything we needed. The property has a nice homey feel and is very roomy, especially the open field portion. Would definitely book again!!

      Camping site exactly as described. There's ~0.6mile gravel drive to get to the gate, which probably only matters if you're on bike like I was. Plenty of choice for tent setup, nearby portapotty (clean), picnic table, and water spigot. Host and his wife were super nice, came out to say hi in the morning before I left, chatted while we waited for the rain to die down.

      The accommodations are excellent. The owner was very accommodating with camp firewood, the facilities were very clean and well kept. Owner was amazing and very friendly.

      Montie was a great host! He welcomed me upon arrival and was kind enough to both provide a tour of his quiet and peaceful property as well as offer produce from his collaborative garden. Montie has a palpable appreciation of and enjoyment for sharing his camping experience with others as well as hosting campers at his site.
