This 30 acres was owned for many years by a local to Fieldale. It had a large barn and cattle shoots, a hay storage barn, and a tobacco barn at front entrance at creek. Our relatives owned the adjoining 26 acres. During a family vacation to visit our relatives, they told us the 30 acres was for sale and walked the property with us. The only thing it needed was a home. The concept and location of the cabin as you see it was developed on the tailgate and on a paper napkin. A relative acted as General Contractor, supervising and co-worker as a 2-3 man team to build the cabin that stands today. Our family has enjoyed many vacations, holidays, and work days together here and many more memories will be shared as our children and grandchildren share the property.
