Carolina Beach State Park is one of North Carolina’s most popular destinations. Let’s examine why. For one thing, it holds a marina with some of the state’s best fishing spots. That alone would attract enough people, but nearby you also have a beautiful secluded camping area beneath towering trees. If we’re planning a camping trip, we’re coming here. Then there are the miles of gorgeous hiking trails that explore this unique habitat. But here’s the real kicker—at Carolina Beach you can find the one and only Venus flytrap! You know, that carnivorous plant that you were obsessed with as a kid, and still kind of are? Well, this is where you can see it in its natural environment. If that alone isn’t enough to convince you to come down here, we don’t know what is.
