Mission Hemlock Grove

4 sites · RVs, Tents200 acres · Conesus, NY
Welcome, Mission Conesus, originally built by Franciscan Catholics. These lands were likely chosen for many reasons. Suffice it to say there is something special here. Come discover for yourself. Lose yourself here, or maybe find yourself, among the Hemlocks. First, a bit about the terrain. There is much in the way of forest, very mature, and a broad array of plant species. Elevation differences are vast, land to the west is uphill for quite a ways, and downhill to the east, to Hemlock lake below, so the world here can feel a bit tilted. We adjoin 150 acres of nature conservancy lands that nobody seems to know about. These lands are for respectful public daytime use. We also adjoin 6600 acres of NY state forest which is public property. Exploring all that is here would take a very long time! Want to get away? Welcome to our little slice of heaven. We are just getting started in the camping space, but for now, we're accepting bookings and looking forward to hosting you, at the mission. Klip Klop Buggy Watch

1 site · RV, Tent1 acre · Dansville, NY
Our full hook-up camp is in the middle of a small Amish community near the Finger Lakes - specifically at the bottom of the little finger of those lakes. Amish buggies pass by occasionally especially on the Sunday where they meet at a neighbors for church fellowship. Our Amish are very friendly and will wave to let you know. There are Amish shops and baked good stands throughout the countryside that are fun to visit. Their shops are not open on Sunday however. The camp is close to the road where it is an easy in and out. We have full hookups...electric, water, and sewer. We are close to Stony Brook State Park, Conesus Lake, Deer Run Winery, Letchworth State Park, Livingston County Murals, Harriet Hollister Spencer State Park (overlook!), and Geneseo State College.

Waterfall Creek

6 sites · RVs, Tents40 acres · Millport, NY
This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. Hope to see you soon. Ken

Come find your smile @ Sandbar Farm

4 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents18 acres · Arkport, NY
Sandbar Farm was purchased as our home and as a place for both sharing our love and knowledge of horses with others and providing a place for animals to re-group and sometimes recover in order to find their perfect human. We have accomplished this goal for many and some, like Nameless the Mustang, have found a permanent safe place here. Over the years, we have found that our human friends and relatives also find the farm to be fun, and a popular place to relax and re-group from everyday life. We hope that you will feel the same way after a visit. Learn more about this land: Beautiful camping spots among the pine trees. Wake up to deer and horses crossing the fields behind you, birds chirping and the fresh air smell of the great outdoors. We are also: 5 minutes from Stony Brook Park with its natural stone spring fed swimming pool and miles of hiking trails along the streams; 35 minutes from Letchworth Park, the Grand Canyon of the East with its amazing waterfalls; We are 15 minutes from Dansville, NY where the NYS Festival of Balloons occurs every Labor Day weekend and where the annual Poags Hole Hillclimb happens. The best camping near Stony Brook State Park guide

Overview

About

Set in the rolling hills of western New York, Stony Brook State Park is known for its rugged gorge and three waterfalls, each with a plunge pool. Hikers can choose from three short but fairly challenging hiking trails for views of the gorge and falls, as well as rock formations and steep cliffs. The North Entrance for day use visitors has a picnic area, grills, playground, natural stream-fed pool, and entrance to the hiking trails. For overnighters, the wooded Stony Brook State Park Campground has 88 campsites and eight rustic cabins and is typically open from April or May through early October

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Bookings can easily be secured online or by phone.
  2. As this is a popular campground, reservations are recommended: bookings may be made up to nine months in advance.
  3. Same-day reservations are allowed until 3pm on the day of arrival.

When to go

Most visitors come to Stony Brook State Park to enjoy the natural pools, making summer the busiest season—swimming is typically permitted from mid-June through the first week in September when guards are on duty. If visiting on a summer weekend, try to arrive early, as the park can get uncomfortably crowded. During the winter season, most areas of the park are closed to the public including the South Entrance and all hiking trails.

Know before you go

  • Due to damage caused by visitors, walking, swimming, and wading in the creek has been banned.
  • A maximum of two pets are allowed in campsites and day use areas, but not in the swimming area, and must be on a leash and have proof of rabies inoculation.
  • There are a number of grocery stores in Dansville, a few minutes away.
