Sandbar Farm was purchased as our home and as a place for both sharing our love and knowledge of horses with others and providing a place for animals to re-group and sometimes recover in order to find their perfect human. We have accomplished this goal for many and some, like Nameless the Mustang, have found a permanent safe place here. Over the years, we have found that our human friends and relatives also find the farm to be fun, and a popular place to relax and re-group from everyday life. We hope that you will feel the same way after a visit. Learn more about this land: Beautiful camping spots among the pine trees. Wake up to deer and horses crossing the fields behind you, birds chirping and the fresh air smell of the great outdoors. We have our own fields and wood for hiking, quiet dirt roads for walking or biking with horses often available for trail rides at an extra fee. We are also: 5 minutes from Stony Brook Park with its natural stone spring fed swimming pool and miles of hiking trails along the streams; 35 minutes from Letchworth Park, the Grand Canyon of the East with its amazing waterfalls; We are 15 minutes from Dansville, NY where the NYS Festival of Balloons occurs every Labor Day weekend and where the annual Poags Hole Hillclimb happens. Whether it's a big event or the Arkport Summerfest, there's always something fun to do, besides just relaxing. We also offer limited stabling for outside horses so you can enjoy the trails at more than 5 different parks. Phillips Creek/Turnpike Forest/Palmers Pond, Coyle Hill, Sugar Hill, Wag trail, Mendon Ponds and several others. Have a different hobby? Just ask and we'll let you know what's available.

Great location!
What a beautiful place to stay! Not only was it full of amazing wildflowers and wildlife (we had deer walk right up to our van several times), but they had chickens and horses for us to interact with as well. The horses were super friendly and we loved being able to pet them and give them treats. We were able to purchase some of their chicken eggs as well and they were amazing! Jacqueline and Rob were super friendly, highly responsive, and kept the place in immaculent condition. They provided us with a fire pit, a porta potty, and a picnic table. All of which we made good use. If you are looking for a peaceful getaway surrounded by Nature, this is your place!

The property was beautiful! They even gave us some carrots so our kids could feed the horses. Jacqueline was very responsive with directions and very accommodating considering we ended up arriving a couple hours later than planned.

Heaven? Haven? Both
We loved, loved, LOVED camping here!! We got to use the woods campsite and it was wonderful. Forester with AWD managed the trail in dry conditions-- we moved closer to the field before heavy rain. The woods were just perfection. Cool, mossy, beautiful, private, quiet, magical. Mosquitoes not bad and no poison ivy-- paradise! Our favorite wildlife observations were a Northern Slimy Salamander and many red efts, as well as hearing a Barred Owl and seeing dozens of tiny toads (which we loved every single one). We camped three nights, visited Letchworth and Stony Brook state parks. Both were stunning and we absolutely wish we had more time. Our hosts were friendly, helpful, completely chill, and so kind-- delivering us firewood and a cooking grate, and letting our kids interact with their animals. The donkeys are so cute, it's ridiculous. Wish we had more time to hang out! I was truly sad to leave, and on the long drive home our 5 year old was asking when we could go back. Hope we will manage sometime :) Thank you Jacqueline, thank you Rob!

Very peaceful and beautiful spot! When we arrived, we were greeted by one of the hosts and shown to our site. The campsite is at the back of the property and is entirely private. The host told us we could set up anywhere along the tree line and that there were two firepits to choose from. A trash can and a small cassette toilet are available for campers. One of our stay's favorite parts was interacting with the host's horses. Jacqueline gave us some treats to feed the horses and the baby donkey! We loved hanging out and playing with our dog during the day; the stars were amazing at night. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

A very peaceful spot for a couple of nights. Jacqueline was particularly accommodating as I was the first guest of the season and booked 30 minutes prior to a sunset arrival when my previous lodging fell through. Only downside was a limited cell signal at the site itself, but plenty of signal up the hill on road by driveway as I had some image galleries to transfer before turning in.
