Red Fox Meadow Campsite
The place was great and abundant with amenities. They had a hiking trail thay was immersed in nature. It was clean and organized. It also had a small cafe and i think a bath house. Left early bc didnt feel like packing in the rain but overall a nice place to camp.

Campsite in decline
Bummed out that the platform to keep the tent off the ground was removed as the meadow is very soggy. We had found a good spot that was dry and mostly flat, but as we were setting up the tent, we found shards of broken glass so we moved much farther back. There is also a collection of garbage that has been growing in the meadow (think large objects like furniture, etc).
On top of that, I know there was water available, even in the cold months (we've stayed in December before and this trip was April), but when we tried to find the spigot, we couldn't. I messaged the host but never got a response.
You do have access to two pretty nice outdoor toilets though so there's that?

Rail trail access was fantastic. Wifi at the Cafe and in the meadow was great. Good signs and description of the location. Friendly neighbors camping and renting nearby. Clean and stocked bathrooms. Offseason camper note, no running water in winter so pack a few gallons.

So awesome camping here this season! The host gwenyth is so pleasant. We came up after the rain and she was able to accommodate us on dryer land. The property is wonderful and the people we met were also very nice. There are new bath houses that are still in construction but so clean and lovely. We definitely would recommend this place to anyone. So many trails nearby and only a ten minute ride into new Paltz and a small town nearby incase you needed anything. We loved hearing the birds in the morning and star gazing at night. We felt safe and comfortable and couldn’t have asked for a better place to camp. We can’t wait to come back in the warmer season when the cafe is open. Thank you gwenyth, this place is a gem.

Caution!
Host was not responsive at all. We sent a message through Hipcamp asking if we could arrive an hour earlier due to some circumstances and the host NEVER responded. We went on a rainy day and we are fine with the natural elements (rain, mud, etc.) as we tend to camp all year round at either State parks or hipcamp sites. This place, although claims has 250 acres where you can camp, there is only one designated area where you are pretty much next to each other. The “designated” area has junk around. There was a guy working/ making noise while we were there. So much for tranquility and peaceful moments in the woods! Not to mention the sirens going off in the middle of the night (the last one we heard was at 3am). There is NO privacy on this place (keep in mind it was raining, not drizziling, raining during the winter) and people would come to the junk area to investigate what it was, which was close to where we were camping. The trail is so close that you have no privacy whatsoever. If you are looking for a CAMP and MINGLE…this is definitely the place! I can only imagine this place in the warmer months/summer….what a nightmare! Again, if you are looking to migle, meet other people and be on a type of festival camp site then this is it. But if you are looking for a secluded place where you can decompress from the noisy city, enjoy nature and hear the beautiful sounds of the woods then this is NOT your place.

I loved tent camping here! Great open field with a couple of fire pits.
