We are a Black and Peruvian-operated site. We offer a safe, welcoming, and relaxing place for BIPOC and LGBTQIA2S+ guests. Our modest forest farm is nearly half-way between Seneca and Cayuga Lakes in the Finger Lakes area of New York. We offer a small, quiet walk-in campsite in our 2-acre private forest. Upon entering into the site you'll find yourself in a calming plot of mature pine, oak, and cherry trees where a variety of species of songbirds and a family of hawks have found a home. Parking on the property is a very short accessible walk from the tent site. There is a fire pit at the site and guests may access our personal kitchen garden for greens and veggies. A private bathroom and shower with free laundry (yes, I said free laundry!) and drinking water is available for use by guests in the main house. Wheelchair users will need a ramp in order to access the main house; we don't have one at this time, unfortunately.Our site is a great location to serve as an affordable hub for experiencing all that Cayuga and Seneca Lakes have to offer. In addition to being surrounded by wine country, we're located in what's known as the Emerald Necklace: an arc of more than 50,000 acres of conserved land abound with ways to spend time in nature. We are just a 5 minute drive or 20 minute bike ride from the small town of Trumansburg, home to the Tompkins County Fairgrounds (where Finger Lakes Grassroots Festival is held) and some of the best local waterfall swimming holes, to which we can give you detailed directions. Taughannock Falls State Park, Finger Lakes National Forest, and the Seneca Lake Wine Trail are all within a short drive or bike ride from the site. A 20 minute drive east will bring you to downtown Ithaca, where you can visit the renowned Ithaca Farmer's Market, Cornell University, Six Mile Creek, and plenty of bars and restaurants. Ithaca is also home to series of serene swimming holes at the base of waterfalls where locals and visitors relax during the summer. If you choose to go west you'll end up in Watkins Glen where you can check out the 200-foot cliffs and 19 waterfalls of the dreamlike landscape at Watkins Glen State Park, known as one of the best state parks in the U.S.We are both very experienced backpackers, cyclists, and bikepackers. Kimberly is a bike organizer and routemaker who runs Radical Adventure Riders Finger Lakes, a community for BIPOC and FTWN-B (femme, trans*, women, non-binary) bikepackers. She's happy to provide guidance on road, gravel, and mountain biking in the area and share her library of local bike routes. We have a work stand and tools available to fix any small issue you might have on your bike as well. We can also tell you about the hiking, backpacking and cross country skiing in the local area, much of which can be accessed by a 10 minute drive to Finger Lakes National Forest.We ask that those who stay on their property please respect the space and the land. We have a small, delicate ecosystem with newly-planted fruit trees and shrubs, so please minimize your impact on existing vegetation, trees, and soil. This is one of only two camp sites on a 200-acre parcel of secluded, rural farm land. We are a working pasture based farm where you can see how grass fed beef, pork, chicken, and eggs are produced. There's nothing quite like fresh eggs and bacon after waking up to the sunrise over a fog-filled valley! When you arrive we will provide a complimentary carton of pastured raised eggs and you are welcome to visit our web site (redhouseranch . net) or store to order meats for your stay and/or to take with you upon your departure. We have a wide variety of grass fed beef, pasture raised pork, snack sticks for long hikes, and dog bones for your furry friends. Many of our items are well suited for campfire cooking. Keep in mind that all our products are frozen so be sure to plan for time to thaw. If you're not sure what that involves - we're here to help. We are a working farm but, much of our property is not grazed or farmed. You are welcome to explore the entire area while also getting a glimpse of sustainable, pasture-based, farming methods. Learn more about us and the history of the farm at our website. As you roam the hills and forests you'll eventually bump into some of our animals. Please do not enter the animal enclosures or touch any of the electrified fence lines. If you really want to pet a piggie or hold a chicken - just reach out to Ike or Dave and we will gladly arrange this for you. Red House Ranch is also the perfect spot for wildlife enthusiasts and bird watchers. During your stay you may encounter eagles, blue herons, coyotes, turtles, wild turkeys, foxes, the endangered bobolink bird (its unique call sounds a bit like R2D2), deer, great horned owls, and many unique plants. It's not uncommon to hear the coyotes howling at night. In addition to hiking trails with incredible views, there are four ponds on the property easily accessible with mown paths. One is very large with a dock and suitable for swimming, paddling, fishing, or just relaxing but the water. The other three are smaller and are now primarily wildlife habitat. easily accessible with mown paths If you're feeling adventurous, there is a more strenuous hike down into the creek bed where you can find miniature versions of the gorges and waterfalls that our region is known for. We are happy to provide maps and guidance or leave you to your own devices. When skies are clear our area has very little light pollution and excellent star visibility. It's a great place to view the night sky during a meteor shower. We hope you enjoy your stay as much as we enjoy living in the beautiful Southern Tier/Finger Lakes area!

There is a modern outhouse with flushing toilet and sink with running water a reasonable walking distance from each site. A private potty in a potty tent on your site is available to rent. Sorry, no shower yet! Every site has a fire ring and comes with first bundle of wood. Both my husband Ben, and I are natives to the Fingerlakes region. We are  nature lovers and enjoy , (Love) camping. When this property became available to us we couldn't help visualize our dream camp spot. We decided to make a go for it. The frontage of the property is a small mobile home park which truly reminded us of a quaint camp community we had just visited in Canada. After exploring the 90 acres of hardwood forest beyond the park we realized an eco friendly camp ground was exactly what the property needed. Ben sourced only local wood for the cabin and used all natural building materials. No plastic anywhere! our hope is that people who need a break from the hustle of daily life can visit Minglewwood and enjoy some serenity.Our sweet little cabin is about a quarter mile into the forest. You will have total privacy. The cabin sits beside a little creek which runs till late summer depending on rain.  There is 90 acres of beautiful forest to explore. The stunning Finger lakes are only a short drive as well as the impressive Gorges that surround the area. You will find no shortage of natural beauty when you visit Minglewood camp.

This is a beautiful piece of property located in the heart of the Finger Lakes and Wine Country of NY. It features a stunning spring fed waterfall and nice forest land. Very close to town but also very secluded and private. Great place to unwind and relax from our everyday lives. It is situated however in a gully next to a creek and waterfall so it is susceptible to heavy rains. It is recommended to at least have an AWD vehicle if rainy. I can usually help campers with getting to the site in my side X side if you need to park up at the pasture. Please order enough wood initially as I have found I spend a lot of time delivering extra wood to campers. It seems as if you will typically go through 2 bundles per night on average. Also I supply a contractor size garbage bag to you if you choose garbage removal. It is also a good idea to text me when you have a solid ETA so I can be here to take you to the site. I want to mention that the two sites closest to the waterfall are a slight hike in and can only accommodate up to 4 person tents so if a bigger group or vehicle camping you will be placed at another site. We took great care to make sure each campsite is PRIVATE (parking on-site*) and the trails are easily navigable. Our 'Welcome Shed' is equipped with a compost toilet, local information, (newly added) Hot Water Station, first-aid kit, charging station, bug spray etc. and is located in a safe, well lit, open area on the property. Each site is equipped with a fire pit and comfortable seating with tables, chairs, and/or picnic tables and tripod grills. Firewood is available on a donation basis. There are State Parks and places to hike one of the many gorges around beautiful Seneca Lake and surrounding area. Take a tour of the many wineries and breweries which our region is famous for. Enjoy hiking, swimming, biking, kayaking, and many historical sites to see. Our reviews tell it all. We know you'll love it here :) *PLEASE NOTE: Our sites are custom made for TENT or CAR camping. Because we have "parking on-site", Large RVs, Campers (over 16'), and any 5th-wheel campers are very difficult to place since there are no easy ways to back in or turn around. Stay in our cozy, heated and insulated, artsy bunkhouse. We're located on a quiet woodsy dead end street with tons of bird life and acres of nature to enjoy. Walking trails are right out the back gate! There is also frog pond and campfire pit to enjoy. Marshmallows provided. The bunkhouse is less than 2 miles to the center of Ithaca where there is plenty to do! including the taking advantage of the new bike share program and waterfront trails. Definitely come hungry, Ithaca has more restaurants per capita than NYC and LA.!! Were also just 12 min across town to Cornell University and Ithaca College and 5-20 minutes from numerous amazing waterfalls. The available half bathroom is in the main house, just seconds from the cabin and is open to use 24 hrs. The heated bunkhouse has 2 twin mattresses in the loft, and several blankets and pillows, but you need to BRING YOUR OWN SHEETS and pillow CASES as you wish. Firewood is $5 per fire, starters materials included, marshmallows are in the end table drawer! there are roasting sticks out by the fire pit. You can select the campfire wood option here or pay in cash in the cabin. Feel free to bring your own fire wood and pay nothing to enjoy a campfire. if you need any help starting a fire, we can help. We have a sweet fluffy orange cat who roams the property. His name is kitty kitty :) He's fearful of dogs, and is wary of visitors since they might be harboring one! If you have a pup with you, please keep them leashed at least around the main house and cabin. We are also fostering our adult daughter's very sweet dog Beya-- (pronounced Bay-yuh). She is the nicest person you'd hope to meet and although she may bark a little the first time you come in to use the bathroom she's just letting us know you have arrived- and will be very happy to have you greet her. She doesn't jump up, growl, or have any negative behavior with people other than getting underfoot in the kitchen!. There isn't a shower included in the stay unless you are here for multiple days and have spoken with us about it...but you can definitely wash up with hot water and soap, in the half bath --hand towel provided. The cabin has air conditioning for summer use So no worries about being too warm to sleep well. (and heat in the winter) The location is Beautiful in all seasons! Cross country skiing is possible in the winter but bring your own gear.. (we did not do a rink this year) If there's something else you need for your stay, just ask! We are pretty flexible and can probably help out.

(i.e. Kingtown Beach Road) In the 1970s it was a marina developed by the Fulton family, with 4 small tourist cabins on the hillside above the water. Two more families loved and cared for the property before our family purchased it in late 2018. Laughing Goat Fiber Farm

Laughing Goat Fiber Farm is a working farm, raising exotic fiber animals such as Angora and Cashmere goats, alpacas and sheep. The fiber is processed on farm and regionally and everything made from it is hand dyed. Many items are one of a kind and hand made. A small retail shop in our renovated Carriage House showcases the knitting looms that we make items on, as well as knitting machines from 100 years ago. The property has beautiful views overlooking the Cayuga Lake Valley and Ithaca. Learn more about this land: Pitch your tent on the back 40 acres of a working goat farm.  Site #1 has a tent platform, table and firepit. The 12 x 16 tent platform backs up to the mature hedgerow of maples and oaks for afternoon shade, and the campsite overlooks Ithaca's Inlet Valley.  The platform is just a 4 minute walk to the main house, and you'll have complete privacy.
