Wyomanock Farm

31 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents75 acres ¡ NY
Our 75 acres is a wonderful, diverse mix of habitat, harmoniously integrated with our small farm. This land was the homestead of the very first white settler of the area, John Wiley, in 1787. The Wyomanock Creek is the backbone of this little valley. Beaver have dammed the creek at several points to create ponds and other wetland features that support a diversity of wildlife including otter, moose and a myriad of birds, from osprey to herons. This sanctuary is host to many uncommon native plants and plant communities. We would love to share it with you! Your host, Thom, invites you to property to explore 75 acres of meadows, woods and water. Choose one of several sites either in the woods or open areas. You are also free to use our outdoor solar shower or take a dip in the cold pond! Our location is convenient to the Berkshire Mountains, state parks, hiking and other attractions, including Ramble Wild tree to tree adventures and Jiminy Peak. There are a few miles of rail trail access just down the road.

Magic Forest Farm

11 sites ¡ RVs, Tents225 acres ¡ Coeymans Hollow, NY
Our slice of paradise consists of 225 acres of forested land nestled in the foothills of the Catskills near Albany. We are a homestead and small campground devoted to the principles of organic farming and self reliance. Modern agriculture and big business are unsustainable, destroying farmland at a accelerating pace. It is important for us to teach the next generation, there is a alternative. We produce much of our own food. It is a great place to forage many types of wild mushrooms, and are willing to teach those interested. We own a sawmill, and have many natural building projects started. We have friendly goats, chickens, ducks, white peacocks, donkeys and horses the guests can pet and feed. There are many waterfalls and swimming spots within a short drive. A quick 5 minute drive will get you to one of the best disc golf courses in the north east. Don't have any gear? A fully stocked campsite with a tent can be arranged for an additional fee.

Otters and Eagles Cabin

1 site ¡ Lodging5 acres ¡ Stephentown, NY
This is a 1920's cottage that we moved and restored. The building site is an old Charchoal mound that was in use in the 1700's so there is a lot of history between the building and site where it sits. It's a beautiful spot right on the water, tranquil and full of wild life' we I built this cabin for the quiet enjoyment of our natural world. This is a place to unwind and reconnect. We have just added a 10*12 platform tent to accomodate an extra couple or for more space for older families with teenagers. This is still 1 site, tent just gives a few options if needed. You can find pricing for it in "extras" Enjoy water front camping on a quiet 15 acre pond, 4 miles from the mass border and Berkshire Mountains. Our cabin is cozy with a wood stove and beautiful outdoor fireplace, additional large fire ring and seating area. The cabin is equipped with a composting toilet and an additional large outhouse. An outdoor shower with hot water. This is a very private setting, super quiet and relaxing.

Moonrise Forest Camp

2 sites ¡ Lodging10 acres ¡ Petersburg, NY
We have been the caretakers of this land and cabin since 2015, when we bought it from the builder of the modest cabin on-site, Steve. It is our family camp, but we love to share it with friends and fellow nature-loving campers. The land is partially wooded, and partially 'old field' that is slowly re-foresting through natural succession with some intentional interruption in order to introduce edible native trees and shrubs that are not naturally present. In this way the land is a slowly developing food forest and also a nursery for its plant-loving stewards. Learn more about this land: Escape the city and find yourself in this off-grid hillside cabin with a deck overlooking the Taconic mountain range.   Wander through field and forest, and cool off in the nearby stream.    The cabin has two rooms, and there is a kids playground and tire swing making this an appropriate family camping getaway.    There is a solar panel providing indoor lights and phone charging capabilities, a fire pit with a grill, and a simple array of pots, dishes, and utensils.  There is a spring-fed 55 gallon reservoir of potable water that will slowly refill as well. Though not far off the road, there is very little car traffic, and the surroundings are very peaceful.  The din of the running stream is a constant, while the sounds of coyotes and owls can be heard at night.  As the name indicates, the east-facing hillside is often witness to incredible moonrises, and the stars are always bright.  Nearby Attractions: The Beer Diviner small-scale brewery and taproom is a stone's throw away from the parking area with a selection of tasty beer and some food options available.  In addition to regular hours, there are special summer events, and live music every Saturday night. Cherry Plain State Park is a 'less-traveled' state park and campground just 3.5 miles up the road, offering lake swimming, boating, hiking and mountain bike trails. Other nearby outdoor attractions include:  Williamstown MA, The Taconic Crest Trail, Jiminy Peak Resort, Hancock Shaker Village, and Mt. Greylock. We visited four museums (Clark, MassMoCA, WCMA & Rockwell), saw plays at Berkshire Theatre Festival and Shakespeare & Co., and hiked the trails at the Clark where we also took in a free concert. We dined at all our old faves and found a couple of new ones -- Haflinger Haus in Adams and North County Pastaria in North Adams. It's always a pleasure. --Anne & Ken December 1, 2013 - March 31, 2014 Thank you very much for sharing your house with us. We had a great time and the kids say it is "their ski house."
