Perry Farms is the home place of the Perry Family, established in 1980, and provided much open space for the children to grow and play. It is located in the northern edges of the Chihuahuan Desert. Native fauna and flora as well as beautiful blue skies, with millions of stars provide peaceful, quiet moments of nature. Learn more about this land: Desert Camp consists of six RV spots with full hookups (electricity-30 and 50 amp, septic, water, and WIFI) and 11 unimproved tent camping areas on family property of Perry Farms. The land has arroyos, mesas, lots of flat areas to car camp, pitch a tent or sleep on the ground under the beautiful, dark New Mexico skies. There are also a few places to hang a hammock. To the west, there are miles and miles to hike, mountain bike, or just enjoy the view of the Magdalena Mountains. Neighbors are quiet and you can choose a spot away from anyone.

We love Vannetta and her family! Very welcoming which is so nice when stopping in a new area. She has full hookups which usually isn’t necessary for us, but as it sometimes happens when traveling afar was very nice not to worry about using our onboard water after a great MTB bike ride on the Quebradas Scenic Byway! Absolutely beautiful! Especially helpful was all the local recommendations Vannetta gave us. You must see the Capital Bar in Socorro, the oldest bar in NM. Vanetta was super helpful with directions and met us as we arrived! I would recommend her place to anyone wanting to visit the area near and around Socorro.

Enjoy a slice of New Mexico heaven!

Wide open vistas, delicious solitude and the most gracious host ever - that’s Perry Ranch. We enjoyed wide open spaces and dark skies during our two-night stay. It was our very first RV trip, so we were so grateful for full hookups and having the place all to ourselves. Thank you Vannetta, for sharing your piece of heaven with us!

We thought it was very beautiful there! Vannetta was so kind and attentive! Gave lots of great directions and ideas of things to do. She is so very helpful and generous. Highly recommend her and this campsite.

Perry Farms Chihuahuan Desert Camp

Vannetta’s property was conveniently close to the Bosque del Apache national wildlife refuge and I had a nice stay. I tent camped and enjoyed the sunset and sunrise views. Other campers were staying on the property and they were quiet and respectful. There are a few houses nearby, and couple people drove by, so it was a little challenging to find privacy to use the restroom. Would maybe recommend more for RV campers who have a toilet.

Very peaceful and safe property. Directions weren’t very clear so make sure you get additional info before you arrive- cell service was weak in area - especially if you anticipate arriving after dark. Very convenient to Bosque del Apache NWR.

Lovely spot with terrific host.

Vannetta was a very helpful host, answering my questions promptly prior to and during my visit. The area was beautiful and easy to access as well as private and safe.
