Once upon a time the Pecos Tribe lived in this valley and if you pay close attention, you can still find arrowheads and fire charred ceilings on rock overhangs. After that the people from Pecos grazed their cattle in the area. If you're up for a 30 min hike you can reach the top of the hill and see the whole La Cueva valley and Pecos canyon and higher mountains. The property features a lot of rock outcroppings and a seasonal creek. The property is 30 acres with National Forest just down the dirt road. You ultimately end up at Glorieta Baldy if you continue if the Forest gate is open.
