Surrounding New Jersey’s deepest lake, Round Valley Recreation Area is a mecca for hikers, boaters, anglers, and campers. It’s one of the few parks in New Jersey that offers primitive wilderness camping, for a taste of solitude that is rare in such a populated area. The reservoir covers roughly 2,000 acres and is open for fishing, boating, and swimming. Trails crisscross the park, and are available to hikers, mountain bikers, and horseback riders. Sound like your slice of paradise? Escape the heat of a New Jersey summer and make tracks to Round Valley.
