You don’t need to hop in a time machine to get a feel for what the 19th Century industrial revolution was like. Just mosey on down to New Jersey’s Allaire State Park to see original steam trains at the Pine Creek Railroad, blacksmith and carpentry workshops, and historic worker housing at the Howell Works Village—you'll marvel at just how far we’ve come. Then go and camp out in your tent or trailer or rent a yurt or cabin for a wacky and wonderful historic camping experience like no other. If history makes you yawn, head down to the Manasquan River to fish or rent a canoe and float down the tranquil water to your heart’s content. To round out the transportation options hop on a horse, a mountain bike or use your own two feet to hike and explore the many trails weaving through the park. Keep your eyes peeled for the 200 species of wildflowers and trees as well as the wildlife that call this area home. One thing’s for sure, there is so much to see and do at this park that boredom is not an option.
