The lake was ranked by the Boston Globe as one of the top five kayak spots in New England, so make sure to bring your own, or rent a canoe, kayak or rowboat here! Paddle by Metallak Island, once home to Indian Chief Metallak, and later a privately-owned resort island.There is also excellent fishing and swimming in Umbagog Lake.
