Alisha and Dave have been living on an working this land since they purchased it in 2013. They are realizing their long held dream of resiliency and self sufficiency. The land was formally the home of Bob and Mary Mackintosh who had a garden and planted blueberry bushes.
Mackintosh Homestead is a
five acre organic homestead in the Monadnock region of New Hampshire,
just 90 minutes from Boston and Brattleboro, VT. We maintain 2,000
square feet (and growing) of annual garden space, 500 square feet of perennial space, and permaculture inspired landscaping. In addition to medicinal herbs, fruit trees, and berry bushes, we have laying hens and plans to expand into meat chickens, turkeys, and possibly rabbits. In 2017 we will be finishing a "tiny" guest house, constructing a home-scale greenhouse, and maintaining the newly dug pond, Throughout the growing season we wildcraft from nature's abundance, preserve our bounty and make medicine in the form of infusions/oils/tinctures/salves.
One of our greatest pleasures is sharing our dream with others. We love being inspired and inspiring members of our community near and far to live more intimately with the land that provides nourishment to the body and soul.
