Water Rock Ranch is surrounded by majestic mountains, and located in the valley town of Pahrump, Nevada. Apart from casinos, brothels, churches, and shooting ranges (all legal in Nye County), Pahrump offers hiking, biking, bowling, golfing, off road adventures, the beautiful Pahrump Valley Winery for dinner and/or wine tasting, Pahrump Valley Speedway, and Spring Mountain Performance Race Car Driving and School, local Saturday Farmers Market and swap meet, and much more. RANCH has horse shoe pits and rings. There’s a half basketball court for you you. Pahrump is about 1/2 hour from Shoshone (on the way to Death Valley), Tecopa Hot Springs, Ash Meadows Nature Preserve, horseback riding, and about an hour from Red Rock Canyon and Las Vegas.Water Rock Ranch ("WRR") is a clean picturesque 5 acre ranch in Pahrump, Nevada, surrounded by magnificent mountains, and next door to a mission like tower.  Time at  WRR  melts tension and stress away, and can bring calm to your life.   One may meditate, relax, and find serenity  (except for the occasional rooster crow or goat bray).   Or, catch up with email, etc, with free WIFI.   Several boulders on the property so PLEASE USE STRONG FLASHLIGHT! Your accommodations at WRR consists of one 18' diameter tipi, which includes 2 single air mattress beds (one double size and one single), clean sheets and blankets, electric blankets if needed, electricity, phone charger strip, wifi, and heater / fan.  NOT RAIN PROOF because top of tipi is open slightly and rain water will fall in the middle.   At your disposal, next to the tipi, is a pergola sitting area, fire pit (wood provided as an option) and cooking grill (you bring your own charcoal, plates, etc, we have some cooking utensils).  CAMPFIRES ONLY ALLOWED IF if wind is 5mph or less.   I am happy to build a fire for you in the fire pit.    Bring marshmallows to roast (we have clean marshmallow roasting utensils for your use) Your tipi and sitting area are located at the back of the ranch.  A shared indoor lockable bathroom, with shower, is located at the center of the ranch, in the white building with the Water Rock Ranch sign on it. You share WRR with its owners and, during the day, ranch hands.  Also, chickens, peacocks, dogs, cats, goats, and desert tortoises (when not in hibernation).    Also, for those with allergies, please note there is alfalfa hay on the ranch and 7 cats.  Please drive slow on ranch property! Please do not feed the animals.  No additional animals allowed (sorry)!   Pahrump, Nevada is easy to reach and hard to forget.  We're located an hour+ west of Las Vegas and an hour east of Death Valley National Park, a place known for extremes.  Apart from Death Valley, day trips include Amargosa Opera House and Hotel, Ash Meadows preserve for plant and animal life in the region, China Ranch (a lush, green oasis surrounded on all sides by mountain ridges), Tecopa Hot Springs, Red Rock Canyon and, of course, Las Vegas.  We've been asked about RESTAURANTS and FOOD OUTSETS in town of Pahrump (3 miles from WRR).  There are 3 large grocery stories in town:  Albertsons, Walmart, and Smiths.   We don't provide meals.   NO cooking in the tipi. There are several restaurants in town.   We love The Living Free Cafe (down the street at Mesquite & 160) reasonable down to earth good food but limited hours.  Fancy but lovely is Symphony Restaurant at the Pahrump Valley Winery (reservations may be required) (5 1/2 miles from WRR).      Ohjah Japanese Steakhouse is very good.   Mom's Diner or Stage Stop Casino & Restaurant for all American food.   China Wok Buffet & Grill has a big buffet for a fixed price ($11 pp + tax I think, not including drink). (all about 3 miles from WRR).  Also, Mexican, Italian,  and Thai restaurants in town.  And, fast food:  Sonic Drive, Arby's, Burger King, McDonalds, Taco Bell, Jack in the Box, Carl's Jr, KFC, Panda Express, China a-go-go and Subway come to mind.   Starbucks.  For breakfast, may I suggest O Happy Bread (a French cafe bakery) ... they have great fresh Quiche, pastries, salads and sandwiches.   Or, Mom's Diner.  And, there's a Denny's.  Hopes this helps! Safe travels! Pepper Jay

18' Tipi on Working Ranch
It's a TIPI!
Even beyond staying in a tipi, it’s clear the experience at this Hipcamp site is going to be unique from the moment you access the gate entry code through a tiny door on a wooden birdhouse. Pepper and John Michael were attentive hosts, without being at all intrusive. They made sure we were warm, comfortable and still afforded enough privacy to feel like we were the only ones for miles. The hot tub and cold pool transitioned a day of fun hiking into a night of deep sleep in the cozy tipi. The outdoor kitchen is a perfect place to make a quick breakfast before another day of exploration in the beautiful surrounding areas. (Make sure you take a walk around the property — it’s an artsy, eccentric, natural mix of old and new, Hollywood and Western. Just enough weird and wild to spark one’s imagination.)

Peaceful Relax experience!!
Water Rock Ranch was our first time glamping. l wanted to spend time doing outdoor activities like sleeping in a Tipi, cooking outside with a campfire, and looking up at the stars at night on Thanksgiving weekend. It was such a great experience!! Me and my husband and our daughters - all of us had a great time here. We went there on Nov.26. so it's getting cold. But the host Pepper & John prepared a heated blanket inside the bed & heater also a thick blanket on the floor inside the Tipi. We were comfortable to sleep and played board games at night inside the Tipi. There is a light and a power outlet, too. So you don't have to worry. We cooked beef and vegetables on the grill and sat by the fire to eat and talk. We ate pumpkin pie and roasted marshmallows, too! We've never seen so many stars by our house. It was awesome!! There is a gorgeous outside kitchen, bathroom, and a shower room, too. We enjoyed watching animals and there was a greenhouse with many pretty flowers. Also, we got to play horseshoe throwing! We really enjoyed staying there! Thank you very much Pepper and John! Before and after staying there, we went to Crystal Lake and also Death Valley. It's good location, too!

Sleep in Tipi - Bucket List Check!!
Pleasant experience, clean and nice facilities, Pepper was always there if we had any questions before during and after the trip! Lots of charm and super easy to get to from Las Vegas. Very safe area. If you are looking for something close to stores and amenities but still nice and quiet, this is the place. And I mean it's a Tipi - how cool is that?
