Garden Oasis in the Heart of Vegas

1 site ¡ RV2 acres ¡ Las Vegas, NV
Our property sits on 2 acres in the heart of Las Vegas. It is one of the original homesteads of Las Vegas which we are trying to take back to a homestead. The original owners of the property played a huge hand in the building of Vegas. As we have cleaned up the property treasures of a 100 years ago have been found all over the property. On the property you will find a huge garden out front that you are welcome to pick from. We also have over 50 trees on the property you are welcome to walk around and enjoy. If you find yourself in the duck coop or the chicken coop and find an egg you are welcome to enjoy it. Feel free to enjoy the pool, bbq and outside bathroom which has a shower, and full size washer and dryers. Because we are a "working hobby farm" you will see some weeds and you may even see a project or two we are working on, feel free to join in but please be understanding that in order for us to improve things it will get little messy and can take time to complete. Also, please check the weather before you book, Vegas if very hot during the summer months, if your rig doesn't have AC you will not be comfortable as night temps can be easily over 100.

Mom's RV Spot

2 sites ¡ RVs1 acre ¡ Las Vegas, NV
Welcoming camp experience in the Las Vegas area. Private RV spot tucked away on a large lot in a quiet neighborhood, yet only 15 minutes to the downtown Fremont Street Experience, and about 25 minutes to the large strip properties like Caesars Palace and MGM. Las Vegas has a lot to offer, but we have you covered with the RV spot. We are in the NW valley with wonderful views of the surrounding mountains. When the sun goes down over the Spring Mountains and Mount Charleston beautiful colors illuminate evening clouds. We are in somewhat of a rural area, so you might see bats in the evening, and bunnies in the morning. We have even seen coyote, owls, and of course lots of geese flying between golf courses in the morning during many months of the year. We are away from the city lights, so nighttime can be quite dark, but the moon can be a spectacular site. Our Hipcamp comes equipped with water, electrical service (both 30amp and 50amp), and a sewer connection.

Desert Glamping

20 sites ¡ Lodging, RVs, Tents5 acres ¡ Meadview, AZ
Meadview Arizona was founded in 1826 by Jedediah Smith on his Southwest Expedition in search for Beaver! Staying a small remote and quiet town it can feel like it would have in the Wild West. We obtained our campground from a couple that owned it for 20 years but just weren't able to do to it what they had originally planned.. So it was essentially a blank canvas for us to create!! We are the closest town to the Grand Canyon SKYWALK, which is just 40 minutes from us. Meadview, the town we are located, is the only place to obtain Free Entree to the Lake Mead Recreational Center.  Our Campground just 10 miles from Lake Mead and 17 Miles from the Colorado River.  We have outstanding Lookouts, Top notch Stargazing, Gold Prospecting, Bird Watching, Fishing, Off Roading etc. Some of the Best Desert Off-Roading through trails within the Joshua Tree National Forest, Please note you must bring your own OHV, horse, etc, there is currently no rentals available.  We do have Kayaks to rent upon arrival. There is a hidden water fall in the Grapevine Wash that you can get to with a 4 wheel vehicle and you hike in about 15 minutes in. Stunning views and gorgeous natural spring and waterfall. We are 45 minutes off the 93 Freeway Free WIFI provided at the office!..  The town doesn't always have a powerful signal, please keep that in mind in your travels.  However, if you have Verizon, it gets GREAT service! There are three restaurants in town, all just one mile from site... The Boathouse, Anchor Smokehouse and Fishermans Landing Bar.  We have a Bakery called Rosemary and Thyme that serves Delicious foods & Pastries and makes great coffees.  There is also a Gas n Grub that has ice, propane etc... 5 miles away is a Family Dollar store which we lovingly call the "Mall of Meadview"

The best camping near Valley of Fire State Park guide

Overview

About

Valley of Fire State Park lives up to its name, with a dramatic sandstone landscape that looks as if it’s been set ablaze. Located in the Mojave Desert, just 50 miles northeast of Las Vegas and six miles from the Lake Mead National Recreation Area, Valley of Fire offers 40,000 acres of cliffs, slot canyons, and other surreal terrain. Keep an eye out for ancient petroglyphs, petrified logs, birds, and other wildlife. Two campgrounds with shaded picnic tables, water spigots, and fire rings allow RV and tent campers to comfortably spend the night surrounded by red sandstone rock formations, with a night sky to rival the daytime vistas.

Notable campgrounds

  • Best for RV camping: Atlatl Rock Campground offers 44 sites, including RV sites with electric and water hookups, hot showers, restrooms with flush toilets, and a dump station.
  • Best for tent camping: Set in a scenic spot with more limited amenities, Arch Rock Campground offers 29 smaller sites and has vault toilets.
  • Best for group camping: Three group areas available by reservation only can accommodate up to 45 people.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Plan to arrive as early as possible. All of the regular campsites are first-come first-served, and are quite popular. Increase your chances of grabbing a spot by getting to the campgrounds early.
  2. Try for a spot at the Arch Rock Campground first. Since the sites here are more primitive, they are usually the last to fill up.
  3. Try visiting in the winter or summer. Just be prepared for the temperature extremes and note that only Atlatl Rock Campground is open year round.

When to go

Spring and fall are the best times to visit and camp at Valley of Fire State Park. Wildflowers also bloom in the park in the spring. The weather in summer can be brutally hot, with temperatures regularly topping 100°F. Temperatures in the winter can reach freezing, though it rarely snows. The Arch Rock Campground is often closed during the off-season, when there are limited visitors.

Know before you go

  • Bring everything you will need with you. The park is in a remote area with only a small gift shop. It’s best to pick up supplies in Las Vegas or Overton.
  • The park has very limited shade. Try to time your exploration for the early morning or evening. Bring a hat and wear sun protection, and drink plenty of water.
  • Cell phone coverage is non-existent in most of the park, with the exception of the two entrances, visitor center, and White Domes. You can purchase wifi.
  • Don’t forget your camera. Top photo spots include Fire Wave, the Beehives, Rainbow Vista, and Elephant Rock. Bird watchers should also bring their binoculars along.
  • Rock climbing is only available in certain areas. Check with a ranger for the latest updates.
