Riverside Camping
The riverside camping site was great. I stayed there in a tent, and found it to be a very quiet and relaxing time. Colten was helpful in providing solid directions to the site as well as respectful, in regard to privacy. I would stay here again.

Riverside Site - Mid-September
- Colten has great communication! - Sent video with instructions to get to campsite - Right on the river, beautiful 360 view - Minimal light pollution - even the shooting stars came out to play. - So many thoughtful amenities! — Mini library — First aid kit — Pop up tent thingy - the kind you use for shade, not camping. — Fire pit with DRY firewood, enough to last us about 4 hours — Campfire tools — Grate for on top of the fire pit — Bug spray - The river was babbling despite being on the lower side - No bug issues at night - Gravel for our van was level - Saw hawks, heard coyotes, and either a cow or a really outspoken bullfrog. Tips (Not complaints!!) - If pulling up at night, wait in your car for a few minutes; it attracted the attention of a LOT of bugs, but that was the worst of it. The rest of the night was bug free - It’s sandy, wear closed shoes, and follow his advice: keep your car on the gravel! - It’s a bumpy ride getting to the site but it’s cleared well. - In the morning the flies intensified as it got warmer out. Just nature doin’ nature stuff. - You can hear trains but didn’t bother us! Night got down to 50, it was chilly willy. Morning heated up quickly. I really loved this spot. I even found a piece of polished rose quartz in the gravel. There was a little rock family on the log so I added a couple of pretty ones I found. They like the view. I highly recommend and hope you enjoy. 💕

Private but limited river access
Nice secluded spot along the river. The access road is bumpy but manageable without 4x4. The site has no shade but the host had a 10x10 pop up. The spot is an old car graveyard which is pretty cool - just along the bank are a bunch of old smashed up vehicles that are half buried. You can see a few street lights in the distance at night but it’s very private. There’s no easy and direct access to the river itself. You can walk about 10 minutes to get to a clearer bank or forge your way through some brush to get to it but if you’re looking for a spot to rinse off or wade next to your site, this isn’t it. The host also wasn’t super communicative for my stay - I never did get a good recommendation of where to drop my kayak in - but don’t expect to kayak back to your site and easily take your boat out anyways - the access just isn’t there. And if you want to rent the utv ask in advance as it was not available during my 3 day stay. Tons of birds, it was really beautiful…and the sky is huge. Very nice and well kept site for the price - no bin but there was a nice picnic table and a shovel and rake and some books and basic supplies in a dry box. An excellent place to get away from it all - I just wish there was better river access which perhaps the host will create as it’s definitely possible with some work creating a path to what looks like a nice rocky beach. I’d stay again! Only 10-15 mins from downtown ogallala!

Nebraska Pasture RV Camping
We booked this at 8:00 at night and by the time we arrived, it was dark and we had no clue where to go or if we'd even get ahold of the host on such last minute notice. Not only did he answer, he was helpful, friendly, and gave us precise instructions (including a drone video) on how to get to the sight. It was peaceful, private, and the stars were beautiful. The bugs were pretty bad by the water but if there would've been even the slightest breeze, I'm sure it would've been fine.
