Montana Red Devon Ranch is owned and managed by Kiril Sabo(age 17), his brother Riley(age 20), and his mother Jenny Kahrl. The boys were raised on the ranch from birth.  We have chosen Red Devon cattle for their history (originally from Devonshire England, Devons arrived in North America with the first English settlers!), their docility, and their gourmet beef.  Our cattle eat only grass, hay, and forages, as Nature intended.  We manage our land to protect wildlife and clean water for all, to improve soils, preserve open space, and feed hundreds of our neighbors.  All our grassfed beef is sold within 50 miles of the ranch. We also have a deep commitment to sharing our love of land and animals with our community, both near and far.  We have hosted international visitors from France, Russia, Japan, Brazil, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and many many Americans.  Jenny Kahrl speaks French fluently. We hope to share our love of this land and its riches with many visitors, for it is only by knowing where our food originates that we can appreciate each farm and farm family for their work to feed America and the world.Snuggled beside a hay shed, beside running water and edged with cottonwoods and hay bales for privacy, three miles from the village of Harrison, MT, this campsite provides spectacular views of the Tobacco Root Mountains smack in the middle of a working cattle ranch.  ELECTRIC VEHICLE CHARGING is available!  Reserve your time slot in the EXTRAS. We raise heritage Red Devon cattle and  and sell grassfed beef in Bozeman and breeding stock cattle from Alberta to Nevada. Many days during summer the cattle herd grazes in the same field in which the campsite sits.  Bald Eagles nest nearby, coyotes and elk sing overnight, and trout abound in South Willow Creek (which runs through the property).  Harrison Lake Reservoir is close by for fishing and boating adventures, the Tobacco Roots are filled with hiking trails, and Yellowstone National Park is only 90 miles away through gorgeous country. Lewis and Clark Caverns, Headwaters State Park, Canyon Ferry, and Bozeman are all within easy driving distance. The Town Haul Diner in Harrison serves breakfast and lunch. Hikes on foot are permitted in fields on the ranch which do not contain livestock.  All visiting dogs must be leashed at all times on the ranch when they are within any field containing cattle, there are fields for "free rein" dog walking.  Bicycles are welcome on the gravel roads of the ranch, and there are good public trails into the mountains behind the village of Pony, 3 miles from the ranch. The Ranch is in Montana FWP BLOCK MANAGEMENT for autumn hunters.

Red Devon Ranch Stackyard Campsite
The hosts are super friendly and welcoming. They offered me the use of the cabins without any up-charge. Very generous offer and I considered it for a while but the weather was perfect for a tent. The area is indescribably beautiful! A foreground of rolling, lush, prairie grass covered hills backed up with traditional snow capped mountain peaks that define the horizon.

The views from this farm were spectacular! Facilities were clean and quiet and when it rained we were able to take cover under the barn. Jenny was super helpful and a pleasure to meet.

Fabulous camping on the range!
We loved the peaceful setting with mountain and pasture views and a bubbling stream in a grove of old cottonwoods next to the site. Gorgeous sunset, beautiful scenery to walk the dog, and lots of space to stretch out. Very clean toilet, and there is nearby source of water. We even had a magical encounter with a great horned owl who was nesting in the hay barn. Jenny greeted us with warmth and smiles, and the farm fresh eggs and ground beef were delicious! I think this is one of the best places we’ve ever camped. We will definitely be back!

Quality ranch solitude
Jenny's ranch is a perfect escape from everything. She is an absolute delight and spending some time tucked amidst the hay with the company of owls, deer, cows, horses, marmots and more is a perfect chance to disconnect.

Camping among the cattle!
What an unforgettable experience. The stack yard was such a quiet, peaceful area for our little camper. We could hear the sound of small creek beside the yard along with the hoots of a Great Horned Owl every night - it was heavenly. This location served as good home base for our visit to Yellowstone and Bozeman. This is a real working ranch, so I was lucky to partake in some early morning farm chores, and I enjoyed every moment spent with Jenny, the owner. I was fortunate to be there during calving season, and the baby Red Devon calves were the cutest babies I’ve ever seen. I loved learning some things about ranching life. Plus, Jenny is just the coolest! Stay here if you love learning about ranching, farm animals, and life in Montana, in general. My husband and I will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area!

Storm prevented my stay, no refund
I was heading toward the camp when a storm broke out and delayed my travel. I messaged the host to determine if I would be able to arrive at night, but when I didn't hear back for almost 6 hours, I panicked and got a hotel for the evening. She finally texted back and I told her I would not make it, but she refused to give me a refund. So I'm not able to give a review of this site, but definitely double-check the weather before making a reservation.
