For a wilder camping experience, head east into the Highwood Mountains or south into the Lewis and Clark National Forest. Pitch your tent on a creekside campground in Thain Creek or Logging Creek, and spend a relaxing time fishing for trout, or head out along the forested mountain trails to enjoy the fabulous scenery. If you don't want to spend valuable time pitching your tent, or are just looking for a little more shelter, pack some food, water and bedding and head out for a weekend wilderness adventure in one of the area's cozy lookout cabins.
