The Peacock Place

7 sites · TentsShaw, MS
One of the oldest farms in the area, the Peacock Place has been farmed since the 1860s. That is a very long time for a farm in the Delta. Only land that did not flood every year before the levees were built could be farmed. Consequently this farm, being a made up of high rolling land, was farmed. My grandfather bought the place in 1932. My son and daughter will the fourth generation to farm here. The Peacock Place is a truly unique farm for the Delta. Often called the prettiest place in the Delta.Learn more about this land:One of the most beautiful farms in the Mississippi Delta. There are multiple spots to choose from. Groves of trees, forrests, large grass fields, remote, and not so remote.
