Feeling bogged down? Well, the only cure may be to visit a bog! Lake Bemidji State Park is home to some of Minnesota’s more unusual and unique plants and wildlife. If you take the Bog Walk through this wetland preserve, you may see insect-eating plants and wild orchids, eagles and osprey, even treefrogs and deer! For a longer walk, you can find the trailhead for the Paul Bunyan State Trail right inside the park. There is easy access to Lake Bemidji and the downtown area, perfect for a day out on the water and an evening wining-and-dining in the city. Being here, in the great outdoors, with the sun on your back and the wind in your face, any indoor blues will be cured. You’ve been officially invited, so get packin’.
