I become owner of this property in 2017. The cabins were built in the late 90's financed by the previous owner. The property was vacant for decades prior to that. In the 1950's, the property was a drive-in motel called the 'Harbert Motel'. We have an arial photo from this time period which showed a number of small bungalows for guests, each with its own carport. I love all the stories I hear from locals who have been around long enough to remember how things 'used to be'. Southwest Michigan has an interesting history and has been a 'destination' from city dwellers for close to 100 years. Even Al Capone and his goon's frequented the area as they moved illegal good during the days of prohibition. Learn more about this land: Breweries, Wineries, Berry Picking, Art Studios, Farmers Markets, hiking trails, biking trails, Lake Michigan boating, kayaking, fishing, canoeing.......all those things and more await you in Southwest Michigan. We have 6 'tiny house' style cabins on 1-acre property we call - Harbor Country Cabins. Harbor Country Cabins is located along the Lake Michigan Wine Trail. Our resort offers a unique lodging and gathering location in the center of Harbor Country, near Southwest Michigan’s premier destination for beaches, breweries, wineries, dining and summer fun. With 12 queen bunk and 4 twin bunk beds spaced across 6 cabins, our property can hold up to 28 people. Cabins to hold up to 28 people
Beautiful little property. It was perfect for family gathering. Anything you forgot was there. They thought of everything from a bottle opener to bug spray. One of the smallest camp sights I've rented but one of the best. I would give it 5 stars if I could.

Cabins to hold up to 28 people
Perfect getaway! Went with 11 people total and had an absolute blast. The cabins are exactly as described, the bathrooms were clean and modern. So much to do without ever having to leave and so much to do if you want to get out and be active!

Michigan Wine Trail Cabins!
Cosy and well-equipped
Three of us stayed in cabin #4, which is next to the pond with lily pads and fish. We were the only campers at the site during our visit, so we had the entire place to ourselves. The cabin was larger than expected and equipped with fans, clean shelves and surfaces, and spacious queen beds. We even had space to play card games on the floor when it was raining outside. The screened-in porch at the cabin helps to keep critters out, but you will still likely see a couple spiders and other bugs that are easy to deal with. It stormed heavily one night, which kept us awake, but we and our belongings were all safe and dry. The bathrooms were clean and had many shelves and hooks to place our belongings. The kitchen was well-stocked with coffee, tea, cutlery, spices, plates/utensils. The grill area was clean and also well-equipped. We most enjoyed cooking bratwurts and making smores over the firepit (firewood available for purchase), eating our breakfasts outside at the picnic area, and relaxing on the hammock. This location is very close to Warren Dunes State Park, where we spent a day hiking the many dunes and trails, and ended with a swim at the lake. Overall we loved our stay and were sad to leave. We will be trying to convince more of our friends to join us next time!
