Mmm savory is right! A glance at this State Forest would make any nature enthusiasts’ mouth water. Almost as delicious as your morning bacon, the hills in this area are stacked past the eye can see. In the scenic North and South Ponds of the park enjoy an afternoon swim with the fishes or catch ‘em. Too chilly for a swim? Check out the 50 miles of wooded trails that wind through the park. The Bog Pond Trail transverses past the campground on into the floating bog islands. For a million dollar view, climb Spruce Hill, a great place to leave watch in the Fall. Can’t get enough of nature’s taste, stay at the park’s campground that used to be an old apple orchard. Pond front log cabins are also available year round. You may not be able to cook it on your cast iron, but you sure can cook up some adventure here!
