Come for the sugar, stay for the stewardship! Cunningham Falls’ special events, like genuine maple syrup-making demonstrations will be sure to please. And as a designated Maryland Green Travel partner, the park takes pride in its environmental sustainability practices, including energy efficiency, waste reduction, recycling and water conservation methods so you can feel awesome about your vacay.
Tucked away in the idyllic Catoctin Mountains, the park is divided into two separate and unique areas. The William Houck Area located on Route 77 has the lake area, the falls for which the park is named and a camping area. The Manor Area, off Route 15, houses the Scales and Tales Aviary, camping and the historic Catoctin Iron Furnace. Not to mention, there’s outdoor activities galore! Hunting Creek Lake offers swimming, boating and fishing, while the park’s varied trail system offers everything from short, flat jaunts to steeper, longer treks. And if you wanna crash, there’s tent and RV campsites as well as camper cabins to rent. Sweet deal!
