Owned by Bennett Konesni, farmer-musician who is known for singing worksongs in the fields and traveling internationally as an ambassador of traditional American music. Garlic is the chief cash crop and all told he owns 33 acres of field and forest. The land is close to the town of Belfast and all of the fun that can be had in the upper Penobscot Bay and the Camden Hills. It's also on the way to Acadia National Park so a good stop on your way east.
The land has been tied in with local farming History since Belfast was founded. Today it nicely straddles the culture/nature divide by giving people a feeling of the wild on the edge of a hip small town. We've got a beautiful and broad 16 acre field where we grow garlic and 17 acres of woods, streams, and a beaver meadow. Extra points if you see the beaver!
