Crystal-clear trout pounds, rugged mountains, deep, dark forests, and just shy of 22,000 acres of preserved wilderness. Sound like your idea of a good time? Then make tracks to Deboullie Public Reserved Land, where you’ll find some of the country’s best fishing, hiking, and blueberries. Deboullie’s 17 mountain ponds are home to native brook trout, landlocked salmon, and the rare arctic char, the world’s northernmost freshwater fish species. Backcountry hiking and camping on a 12-mile trail network will bring you deep into the woods, with opportunities for glimpsing bear, moose, loons, eagles, and the elusive Canada lynx. Primitive campsites with privies are scattered throughout the wilderness, and solitude is absolutely guaranteed.
