Nice lawn to stay the night . Easy to find and was quiet. Great run in the morning to the park at the end of the road.

The Harraseeket Campsite
A great and quiet place to overnight. The lot is quite large and very level, no problem setting up quickly. It would be ideal for a small group of RVr's traveling together. Very peaceful, the silence broken only by what we assumed were falling acorns in the woods. Jay was friendly, and very responsive to any queries. All good. When leaving the property be aware that there is good curve in the road to your right so you must be careful pulling out. We will visit Jay's property again if in the area.

Just OK / No Communication
Based on the reviews I was expecting his communication to be good. He never responded to any of my texts, and never came down to welcome me or give me the lay of the land (assuming i was even in the right spot!?). I heard someone out with a dog, but never said anything to me. Disappointed in communication. Hip Camp spots have always had super friendly people whether I met them in person or not, this did not feel like it fit. As far as the camp goes, little trashy feeling but it’s a safe and quiet place. Plenty of firewood, and benches by the fire pit. Whoever was there before me left the pit a mess and there was a massive pile of charcoaled firewood but not burnt all the way down + some trash that also hadn’t burnt down. I had to rearrange the wood so I could get something started and get my hands all black (don’t mind that just sayin). Toilet/hose seem to be closer to the entrance, opposite end of the field of the pit. Just OK spot, bad communication (aka none at all), but close to Portland and on the way for my trip heading north. Large field would be good for group camping, tents and rv’s of almost any kind. No view, woods and residential area surround. Minor road noise.

The Harraseeket Campsite
Campsite is a perfect set up. The fire pit and place to set up camp is a perfect distance away from the road. There was plenty of firewood there for us. Our stay was cut a little short just because we got woken up by a bobcat outside our tent at around 2am but there is no way to control that so that is not a complaint against this site more of a heads up

The Harraseeket Campsite
Jay provided great directions and communicated quickly prior to the trip. The site is great - wide open, but private and lots of choices for tent location. It would make for an excellent group camping experience with a couple of families. The firewood is provided and a huge benefit. It’s dry and burns great. A hose on site for water is also a nice benefit. Super great location for Southern Maine. Lots to do within minutes. Tent campers - the bathroom description is accurate - Jay is honest about describing it in the listing, so be mindful of that. I suggest to make a plan before arrival, if your not comfortable. For me, it was no big deal, but not the same case for others in my party. Doesn’t take away from a great campsite if you’re mindful. Close proximity (a couple miles) to the highway, so you can hear it. Noticeable, NOT miserable, in my opinion. My family would certainly stay here again.
