We purchased this property after it lay dormant for seven years. There are 35 acres on our land and access to hundreds of acres of publicly owned and open-access utility owned land. Our land is accessible by a private dead-end dirt road and the camping area is beyond our house on the ridge. We are in sight of Penobscot bay, in the same town as historical sites and tourist attractions including Fort Knox and the Penobscot Narrows Bridge/observatory.
Our family runs a small farm here with fresh eggs daily. We can offer hot meals, including venison from whitetail bucks shot right on the property, wild mushrooms, and seasonal farm produce. We can offer outdoor and indoor accommodations and are in the process of renovating a guest cottage. There is an indoor heated lap pool in our home and a guest bathroom with easy access for visitors at any hour of the day.
Trails are blazed in winter for snowshoeing, skiing and hiking. There are some sweet sliding hills too. There are lawn chairs, hammocks, fire grates and other equipment available.
Guided nature, foraging and birding tours available. Shuttles for day trips, for sightseeing, paddling and hunting are available upon request. Canoes and kayaks are available on request. Please call ahead for special requests to be sure we can offer them for your stay. Our property is posted for no trespassing and hunting to keep your time here private. You must check in at our home prior to setting up.
