Once the secret speakeasy after dark spot for local political big wigs this property has been transformed from swampland to hidden gem right on the edge of America's Hometown of Muncie, Indiana! Welcome to Narnia! Or Atlantis!? Or... The Property? The Hidden Valley? We just haven't committed to a name yet so it's a little bit of everything all rolled into one! 8 acres on the magical Ganges, er, White River makes for a fun time. You can expect a certain amount of privacy while still potentially making a new friend or two depending on the night. You will be nestled under some giant sycamores, cottonwoods, black walnuts, catulpas, and a mess of bush honeysuckle that is always being battled! We have 2-3 sites directly on the river and then scores throughout with trails, hills, and other interesting features. Multiple firepits though I CANNOT guarantee firewood. There is often plenty to collect or available on site but if you can bring your own that'd be safest bet! We are (somehow) located partially inside Muncie city limits right on the river. Yes you may occasionally hear some trains or even particularly loud cars while camping deep in the woods but this is the tradeoff for a one mile drive to bars, restaurants, and groceries! Best of both worlds. The Muncie Eagles, whose nest resides directly across the river from us, do not seem to mind! This location is also directly on two main bike trail routes and our trails are fun for low impact mountain biking! We also have a small armada of kayaks/canoes on site; IF arranged that option does exist for cost of transport! We have 2 porta potties on site as well and fresh water hose available at main house. Looking forward to hosting!Access to the white river, several firepits, porta pottys, woods to explore and we are right on the Yorktown Greenway Bike Trail. Close to amenities as well when you forget your hot dogs or smores! There are at least a dozen different sites available for any number of diverse camping setups! There are individual tent spaces throughout the woods along the river, an area that is perfect for all hammock camping, a few gazebo/shelters, different sizes of shared fire pit areas, a few areas best suited for RV/Vehicle camping (Cannot get down the drive over 17ft trailer sorry!). It is easy to be flexible out here and, unless a special event, very unlikely that you won't have privacy with whichever choice you made!

Whitney was a great host. The property has plenty of sites for whether you are camping just by yourself or with a large group.

Was a nice spot for semi-rustic camping. Spent 4 nights and had a great time! Can't say enough good things about the host, Whitney! Nice access to the river, with some camping and gathering sites right along the river. Having the port-a-potties and water available was a plus. Close enough to town that going to get extra supplies wasn't a hassle. Quiet, peaceful, clean. Would stay again!

What a hidden little gem we found. We came here for the solar eclipse and it was absolutely perfect. From the moment we showed up, Whitney said to drive around and pick the best spot we wanted for the two of us and 5 y/o. Found a great little spot with a paved firepit area (wood provided) and swings for the kid. You can choose spots right on the White River, or tucked back in the trees for a little more privacy. You can glamp with all your necessary amenities, or pitch a single person tent for very minimalist camping. Don’t plan to drive an RV through the grounds, but a decent sized camper van fits alright. But Whitney was by far the most hospitable and inviting host I’ve experienced at a campground. Daily he checked to make sure we were doing alright and see if we needed anything. He even let us borrow his cart and we got to drive around the entire campground which our son absolutely loved. He welcomed us to come up to the house and hang out for as long as we wanted to. He’s the definition of “good people” and we’d happily come back and camp again. The only cons were the trains that come through during the night. They’re not too far across the river and you can hear their horns clearly, so I’d bring some ear plugs if you’re a light sleeper. Other than that it perfect. Much love Whitney! - The Marylanders

Best place to stay in the area.
Really cool place to stay. The host has themed the area so that different parts of the campground are named different areas of the U.S. River access is available and if you go at the right time you can catch small mouth bass. Some of the campsites have electrical outlets available and there are portapottys that are easy to get to for every site. The host is great! Accommodating and helpful if you have any questions. I would definitely stay here again if I came back to this area.

This was absolutely an amazing campsite in Muncie! Whitney was a wonderful host and provided plentiful of fire wood! Will stop by again!
