Over the rolling hills and not so far away lies the land of Versailles. This state park is the second largest in Indiana and is stacked with activities and pulses with rich history. If you drink a few beers and squint your eyes, you just may be able to see the ghosts of Civil War vets who used to occupy the land. Park visitors are reminded of the old age of Mother Earth from numerous fossils of ancient sea shells discovered in the area. Chill out while fishing on the lake, where you are able to rent a canoe, kayak, or rowboat. There are moderate hikes within the park as well as a twenty-mile stretch of horse trails with super easy access. There is a swimming pool within the grounds and, check this—a waterslide. Campers, choose from over 200 campsites, a group camp spot (for your serious fiesta), and a youth tent camping area. whether you come for the day or stay for a week, we guarantee your trip will be one for the books.
