Tracy is a Star Host

This was once a self sustaining farm built in the 1950s. The farm raised cattle, pigs, chickens. There was 35 tillable acres which produced corn and oats for the livestock. The farm had its own feed grinder in the old barn. There is an old hand built cooler room where all the meat was stored. There are four wells on the farm one of which is used for watering animals and cooling alpacas on hot summer days. One of our tent sites is in the corner of our alpaca pasture. You'll hear the roosters, goats, donkeys and more than likely, Rose, our Maremma livestock guardian dog, throughout your stay.

Camping during the solar eclipse
Aris Farm had heavy recent rains. It was very muddy. We arrived between more storms. Tracy was very thoughtful. She took most of our equipment to the site in her trailer. She even pulled out tarps to keep everything dry. Tracy offered to tour her farm on our terms and made sure we had the privacy that we wanted. We were able to learn a lot about animals the first morning. We were there to see the solar eclipse. She also made sure that we were not interrupted during the eclipse. I would definitely return to her farm to stay again, especially with my grandkids. She is an excellent teacher.

Loved being part of the farm
Staying at Tracy's farm was exactly what I was hoping it would be! We were immediately shown around the barn and became a part of the farm community. The animals are all really chill, and once the guard dog Rose gives you a sniff she accepts you as part of the family. This means you have free range to visit animals and Other campers were dispersed throughout the property, but we all converged with the animals which was really nice. There is a well equipped, lighted, heated bathroom with a flush toilet and running water for the sink. Tracy had everything you need stocked for basic bathroom needs. Tracy is a wealth of spirit and knowledge about her animals, I learned a lot and I love the rescue/education purpose of the farm. We were there for the eclipse, which was perfection, but would return as a getaway from the city and some time with cuddly animals and spending some time outside. Thanks Tracy for a great stay!

Great experience!!!
Tracy is super nice and accommodating. There was a lot of rain a few days before our stay making everything muddy. This was no issue for us because she advised us well in advance and we were able to plan accordingly. She even helped us take our camping gear to our site. As the first time using HipCamp, this experience has been 10/10 even with the unfortunate weather.

A gem for our family
Despite the wet and mud due to all the rain in the area, our kids still had a blast and have asked if we can come back. Every morning they couldn't wait to go pet the cats and feed the goats handfuls of grass. Tracy was an amazing host and very welcoming of our children. Rare find for kids (or adults) that want room to explore and love animals.

Tracy was a wonderful host who stayed in contact leading up to and during our stay. She met us upon arrival and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. Her property was a delight to camp on and her animals a treat to engage with. It was just what we needed for a quick getaway for a couple days of camping and hiking (at Forest Glen Nature Preserve)

Fantastic stay!
Top rate experience! Our host went above and beyond with hospitality. We had a great time unwinding at the fire pit behind the bath house. Tracy was so kind! The land is peaceful and beautiful- and easy to reach from the interstate. We had so much fun meeting the ANIMALS! They were all friendly and adorable! Great stay!
