Imagine a land of hundreds of serene lakes, mirroring gorgeous woodlands, hills to steer your steed upon, and meadows with mushrooms ripe for picking. This land exists. Look no further than Green-Sullivan State Forest, the gem of Indiana. If you don’t already fish, you might want to change your ways before hitting this park—there are so many lakes that host a variety of fish. Hunting for deer, turkey, squirrel, fox, and raccoon are popular here as well, so make sure you rock orange. Picnic tables and shelters are up for grabs for day use and there is even an archery range to try your aim. You will likely want to stay more than a day, in which case primitive and horse campsites are available on a first come first serve basis. Fifteen cabins are also available to rent year round for more cozy vibes!
