We have been working hard on our property to turn it into a campground for a few years and this is our first year doing hip camp. During peak busy season, the barn drive may have additional guests due to site, weather or general camping conditions. The barn drive offers a view of the creek area about 100 feet away and is about 175 feet from the patio common area. WiFi covering the entire camp and all cellular carriers work great here. 30 Amp electrical in many spots. White tank water fill is available in select locations. (State Route 127, Northbound) If traveling here from the South ** on Ohio State Route 127 **, please note the height restrictions on three roads that connect SR 127 with the parallel Wayne Trace Road. The names of the roads to avoid: Consolidated (Height restriction 9' 9" under the railroad) Brower (Height restriction 10' 0" over Seven Mile Creek) 7 Mile Road (Height restriction and very sharp turn to bridge) Please watch what route electronic devices may may pick avoiding these routes. A suggested route from traveling North on State Route 127 to Camp Rocky Run is to turn in Camden, OH on State Route 725 and head East to Wayne Trace Road. !! NOTE on RV types !! You must have a self contained RV with on board restroom facilities. We have no restroom facilities available. For this reason, we do not offer tent camping. !! NOTE on camp fire location !! The fire ring provided on the shared creek side patio is the only spot a camp fire, of any kind, can be built. (Sorry, but we have had too many damaged spots in the grass from the use of 'portable' fire ring units.) !! NOTE on Class A RVs with towed vehicle !! If it is too wet to access the creek side spots, we can still accommodate your stay in the nearby barn driveway but if you are unable to back up with the 'toad' then a detach will be required. Again, this is only if it is too wet to access the creek side camp spots. Generally we will be able to help you back in, but at times we may be away and suggest a helper in guiding you into the barn drive. Note, the barn driveway is not a pull through site.

Our house was built in 1875 and for those who love old houses, tours can be arranged! The land is rolling and dotted with flower beds, animals, and beautiful green grass that is mowed weekly. We are bordered by fields and a cemetery that dates back to the 1800's. We are neighbors with those who grow crops, raise beef cows, bison, and alpacas. 2 blocks from our driveway is Blue River which offers fishing, kayaking, tubing, and canoeing (if you have your own equipment). Town is 2 minutes away, but there is not much there other than a convenience gas station, thrift shop, a nic-nac store that still sells penny candy, and an engine repair shop. "Civilization" is a 30 minute drive to find movies, grocery, shopping, and a public pool. The sky appears to be scattered with diamonds on a clear night and during season the fireflies light the trees up like twinkling lights at Christmas! Learn more about this land: We have an 18 acre mini farm, close to a small town and near a river. We have two small ponds that can be fished in during the spring, wildlife, and birds to watch. There are 6 very nice areas for camp sites that allow for privacy and relaxation. Each site has a fire pit and table. We also have just put in a new out house and have a port-a-potty for our campers to use. We are 10 minutes from Interstate 70 and only 30 minutes from Indianapolis. If you are just passing through or arriving late, let us know and we will be happy to have a campfire started for you. Accommodations can be made for group camping! Our beautiful 1800’s cabin was moved to the property in the 1970’s by a former neighbor who owned the property at the time. The same neighbor also had a historic train depot moved to the property where she sold antiques out of for several years. It is not sure what the cabin was used for at that time but it certainly added charm to the antique store property. When we acquired the property years later, the cabin was in need of work. It sat for a few years until we decided to restore this lovely cabin back to it’s beautiful charm and character. Jim spent a couple years on the project working in his free time and added the porch using old wood in keeping with the natural look and feel of the cabin as well as some interior areas. Upon completion, we opened the cabin as a gift shop selling unique items including antiques, primitives and decor for a few years. We decided to transition the cabin into a place of retreat for traveling guests and still keep some of the goods we sold in the shop available for purchase. We hope that you find the cabin and property a place of peace and tranquility and will want to return. Whether passing through for a night or a few days stay, you’re always welcome in our neck of the woods.
