This trail/park stretches 26 miles from Alta, in Peoria County, to Toulon, in Stark County. The tree-canopied corridor is 50 to 100 feet wide. Stop by several historic attractions on your route to take a breather from walking or pedaling.
Stop by Quincy Depot in Wyoming, the park headquarters. See historical artifacts from the railroad's heyday in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Displays include a wagon, a conductor's hat, and railroad equipment.
Traverse the Spoon River Bridge, the pride and joy of the trail. The iron trestle spans a few hundred feet. There's a bench to sit on to take a break and look at the gently moving river below.
