Reed Bingham State Park
Nature lovers and wildlife watchers flock to this coastal plain.
Pack your binoculars and head to this 375-acre lake and the surrounding coastal plains. Relax while watching plenty of birds, alligators, and a vibrant plant community along 7 miles o hiking trails or by boat. Cast your line into the lake to land bass, bream, crappie, and catfish.
View nearly 80 percent of this coastal plain's plant life on the Coastal Plain Nature Trail. This 3.5-mile path takes you to an iconic bald cypress swamp, sand hills, and a pitcher plant bog. Keep an eye out for endangered gopher tortoises, yellow-bellied sliders. and indigo snakes.
Hop on a pontoon boat for a guided tour of the lake during special events. Your guide will point out tupelo trees and aromatic water lilies. You might see some gators sunning themselves on the shore. Watch for thousands of vultures that roost in trees and soar over

Sleep under the stars thanks to 46 tent, trailer, and RV campsites. One rustic paddle-in island campsite sleeps up to 30 people in a secluded area of the park.
