Arabia Mountain Farm

9 sites · Lodging, RVs, Tents6 acres · Stonecrest, GA
We became the owners of this 6 acres in 2020. We have since started a large garden, have goats and chickens, and have had many projects. We love sharing this beautiful space with others! We are surrounded by the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Reserve, 4000 acres of beauty. There are hiking and biking trails, 2 lakes for fishing, kayaking on the South River, or have a lazy day in the woods. So much to enjoy for outdoor lovers. Being under the canopy of the pine trees really helps keep the site cool during Georgia summers. We have a nice outhouse and outdoor shower with hot water that are available to campers. We do live on the property and the bathroom area is shared with others. Welcome!

Willow Bay Farm

Willow Bay Farm was born in 2012 when my wife and I bought the 1903 farmhouse and started renovating.  The property has been around for over 100 years and, until we were blessed with the chance to buy, it was in the same family for all that time.  Learn more about this land:Pitch your tent and enjoy the wide open space at Willow Bay Farm.  We have space in our open grasslands or our wooded areas.  This is a family atmosphere where you can just get away for a night or two and enjoy the peace and quiet (with exception of a cow or two in the distance)

Big Idea Homestead

3 sites · Lodging, Tents1 acre · Jefferson, GA
Recently purchased property. Wanting to turn into a tiny house community with a goat farm. But, for now, it has three empty tiny cabins, one with power, 2 that are primitive, and lots of area for tent camping. Also, have a completely refinished RV set up to use too. Great for a romantic stay for two.

The best camping near Hard Labor Creek State Park guide

Overview

About

At Hard Labor Creek State Park, the only hard labor you're likely to do is swinging a golf club, flicking your wrist with a fishing pole, or working up a little sweat along miles of off-road biking trails or the easy to moderate trails that can be used by both hikers and horseback riders. Afterward, you can lay out on the lakeside beach or take a dip in the water. Hard Labor Creek State Park Campground has 51 campsites for tents, trailers, and RVs, in addition to 11 smaller sites suitable only for tents or pop-up trailers and 11 horse camping sites close to stalls.

Tips for snagging a campsite

  1. Bookings can easily be secured online or by phone, up to 13 months in advance.
  2. The tent/pop-up sites are not available to reserve online, so you’ll have to call the park.
  3. Sites are not available on a first-come, first-served basis. While last-minute availability is a possibility, you’ll still need to make a booking.

When to go

Summer is the most popular time to visit, when Atlanta residents flock here to cool off in the lake. It’s a good idea to make reservations as far in advance as possible during that period, especially if planning to arrive on a weekend. Hard Labor Creek State Park is known for its educational and outreach programming, so check the calendar to see what’s on before planning a visit.

Know before you go

  • You can easily pick up supplies in Rutledge, a few minutes’ drive away.
  • Free wifi is available in the park office and golf course clubhouse
  • Pets are welcome, as long as they are kept on a leash.
  • Georgia law requires that anyone 16 and older have a fishing license.
